[Bug 1363600] Re: ThinkPad Ultrabay HDD not detected

2014-12-04 Thread Maui Muc
'Expired' what a joke! Just because nothing was done about it the bug didn't
disappear.
Really, when plugging a ultrabay HDD it does not get detected, no kidding!

[Bug 1375231] [NEW] iwl3945abg: Can not connect to 'eduroam' (PEAP, MSCHAPv2)

2014-09-29 Thread Maui Muc
Public bug reported:

Since I am running Trusty on my ThinkPad T60 with Intel PRO/Wireless
3945ABG I can no longer connect to the 'eduroam' wireless network of
University of Potsdam. It again and again asks for user-name and
password. Dead certain, there is no spelling mistake. My Nexus 5
connects just fine. It is even more. With Ubuntu 12.04.5 live and
earlier I can OOB successfully connect with the 'eduroam' network.

While trying to connect syslog says:

[Bug 1041742] Re: netcdf build against parallel HDF5

2013-02-21 Thread Maui Muc
I'd like to support the idea of having a libnetcdf-openmpi-dev package,
too. Having it would be a grate relief.

Well, I tried to build it my own, however, with no success.
Maybe someone could help me out with this?

The following is what I did:
1. Sources and build dependencies
  apt-get source libnetcdf-dev
  sudo apt-get build-dep libnetcdf-dev
2. Replace libhdf5-dev (serial) by libhdf5-openmpi-dev
  sudo apt-get install libhdf5-openmpi-dev
3. Changing build dependencies in debian/control
 line 6: libhdf5-dev - libhdf5-openmpi-dev
4. Modify /debian/rules
 line 14: --enable-parallel-tests
 line 15: mpif90
 line 16: mpic++
 line 17: mpicc
5. Rebuild package
  dpkg-buildpackage -us -uc

This however does not work. The build-process terminates with some error
messages due to that reason:
 libtool: link: mpif90 -shared -L/usr/lib/openmpi/lib -l
 -L/usr/lib/gcc/x86_64-linux-gnu/4.7
Sure, -l directly followed by -L wont work ...

Does anyone have an idea what is going wrong here?

Cheers,
Stefan

[Bug 853373] Re: does not import RW2 raw-images

2012-03-06 Thread Maui Muc
I checked my libraries and both, libgphoto2 and libraw were not up to
date. I am even using Wheezy (Debian testing) how can this be?

Well, first of all I forced dpkg to install libgphoto 2.4.13. And this made the
difference. After building Shotwell from trunk it shows also raw images. As a
second step I tried to update libraw. As with libgphoto apt complained because
of a version mismatch. So what, I also forced the installation of
'''experimental''' libraw packages. The result is very disappointing:
...
/usr/lib/gcc/i486-linux-gnu/4.6/../../../../lib/libraw_r.so: undefined
reference to `omp_get_num_threads'
collect2: ld returned 1 exit status
make: *** [shotwell] Error 1
Now, dependencies are messed up and Shotwell does no longer compile. Anyway,
now we know that it is libgphoto which is responsible for our loved RW2 files.
What a luck I did this on my test system.

[Bug 853373] Re: does not import RW2 raw-images

2012-03-02 Thread Maui Muc
Unfortunately, I have to report that RW2 files are still NOT recognized.

I tried on Debian Testing where I even had to update a whole bunch of
libraries before I was able to build current Shotwell 11.92 from trunk.
Btw. it is really a mess that you are using all this fancy stuff. Why do
you need all these bleeding edge libraries? Is this really necessary?
From my point of view it would be much more important to handle at least
files correctly instead of referring to most recent libraries.

[Bug 853373] Re: does not import RW2 raw-images

2012-02-22 Thread Maui Muc
I totally share Romano's concerns!

Isn't the most natural way using Shotwell to - connect your camera -
import (copy) photos - and erase memory card? From my point of view,
this is exactly the workflow Shotwell suggests with its dialogs popping
up.

Now, the very real problem is: JPEGs are copied as expected, whereas,
RW2 files are ignored without giving any notice. If someone is not aware
of the RW2-bug (most likely not only RW2s are affected), subsequently
erasing the memory card deletes all RAW files. This is very annoying and
frankly, I do not want to explain this bug/behavior to someone who gave
Gnome/gphoto a change.

Just for my two cents, Stefan

[Bug 853373] Re: does not import RW2 raw-images

2011-11-18 Thread Maui Muc
Wait! As far as I can see the Problem isn't solved yet, it is still present,
even in 11.6: RW2 raw files aren't be imported directly from the camera.
The bug which became fixed is that deleting an image now also affects the RW2
file as well as the jpg file.

Also for me and my Logitech c210, Santiago's fix worked fine. Thank you
very much therefore.

Btw.: I really do not understand why it takes so long to apply a fix
which was announced more than a month ago and was already tested by
RedHat a.o.? This totally sucks!

Hi,
since I have upgraded to Oneiric I also have troubles with the Sansa Fuze. It
is configured as MTP device. When I connect it to the computer, nothing happens
even its battery is not charged. Indeed, lsusb lists the device but neither
Nautilus nor Banshee show it.
Any ideas?

[Bug 853373] Re: does not import RW2 raw-images

2011-09-26 Thread Maui Muc
You can navigate down and copy the photos onto your hard disk, then
 drag-and-drop them into Shotwell.
Unforunatelly, this does not work very well. Indeed, Shotwell imports the JPEGs
as well as RW2 files into its database. However, deleting pictures from
Shotwell's trash only concerns JPEG files NOT RW2 files. The raw files remain
on my hard-disk and re-opening Shotwell causes a file System scan and the
pictures are again included in Shotwell.

[Bug 853373] Re: does not import RW2 raw-images

2011-09-20 Thread Maui Muc
Sorry, for the duplicate! I was not aware, that Bugs also tracked at
redmine.yorba.org .

For the first test, the workaround seems to work quite well. Thanks for
this hint.

If it is useful, I could provide you some of these RW2 files. The simple
reason why I didn't post a example file here is its size, nearly 12 MB.

[Bug 853373] Re: does not import RW2 raw-images

2011-09-19 Thread Maui Muc
Oh no, it becomes confusing ...

When I plug my camera into the USB port, Shotwell's import dialog is
shown. However, this dialog only shows JPG files with its thumbnails.
The RW2 raw-files aren't shown at all, neither thumbnails nor file
names.

On the other Hand I can show RW2 files whit Shotwell by double clicking
them or by manually importing them.

[Bug 655278] Re: It should be more clear that Shotwell maintains its own Trash

2011-09-16 Thread Maui Muc
Yes, this is really misleading and I almost wrote a additional bug
report! I would highly favor to unify both, the Shotwell and GNOME
trashes. However, this will take some time so I would recommend to
simply rename 'Move to Trash' to e.g. 'Move to Shootwell's Trash'. This
makes clear that Shotwell has its own Trash, which is not related to the
file system.

[Bug 656710] Re: U+FEFF leads Inkscape to crash

2010-11-01 Thread Maui Muc
Oh, I forgot to mention one important point. Inkscape crashes only
during the PDF export when u+ffef is the first character in an textbox.
This can also be reproduced with Inkscape 0.48 shipped with Maverick.

Here is the backtrace created with Inkscpae 0.47 on Ubuntu 10.04.1:

[Bug 656710] [NEW] U+FEFF leads Inkscape to crash

2010-10-08 Thread Maui Muc
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: inkscape

Pasting the unicode character U+FFEF to a textbox this will lead to a
crash of Inkscape while saving the document as PDF. The character must
be inserted via copypaste otherwise Inkscape would not accept it.

This is reproducible on Ubuntu 10.04.1 with Inkscape 0.47.0-2ubuntu2 and
also with Inkscape shipped with Debian Lenny.

[Bug 621351] [NEW] an entry in the main menu is missing and dxf files are not linked

2010-08-20 Thread Maui Muc
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: qcad

Hi everyon,

actually, the title says it all.

Unfortunately, in Lucid the package qcad has a small error. An entry in
the start menu is missing and dxf files are not associated to open with
qcad. It would be nice if you could fix this error.

Greetings

There is a PPA of Martin, which should solve the problem.

Do you have any idea when the problem will be solved in Lucid without
