[Bug 1183829] Re: gstreamer0.10 Musepack playback is broken

2013-07-15 Thread Miłosz Kosobucki
I have the same problem, however only on one computer. When I try to
play mpc file with gstreamer 0.10 i get something like that:

Setting pipeline to PAUSED ...
Pipeline is PREROLLING ...
Pipeline is PREROLLED ...
Setting pipeline to PLAYING ...
New clock: GstPulseSinkClock
Got EOS from element "pipeline0".
Execution ended after 4810086648 ns.
Setting pipeline to PAUSED ...
Setting pipeline to READY ...
Setting pipeline to NULL ...
Freeing pipeline ...

With gst-launch-1.0 it's playing fine.

It turns out, that update came from GNOME3 ppa. Package got updated to
2.10.92-0ubuntu2~ubuntu13.04.1. After reverting to last stable ubuntu
package (2.10.2-0ubuntu2) everything went back to normal.

Sorry for cluttering buglist.

[Bug 1182401] [NEW] After updating fontconfig, terminus font is missing

2013-05-21 Thread Miłosz Kosobucki
Public bug reported:

Today (2013-05-21) I updated two PCs with Raring Ringtail. I use
terminus font for my terminal, but after restarting, some different ugly
font was showing up instead of Terminus on both computers.

I have terminus package installed:

ubuntu :: ~ » dpkg -l | grep terminus
ii xfonts-terminus 4.35-1
all Fixed-width fonts for fast reading

It may have something to do with the fact, that terminus is a raster
font.

[Bug 811789] [NEW] glew compiled without -fPIC flag

2011-07-16 Thread Miłosz Kosobucki

[Bug 701257] [NEW] Cannot accept license that shows in terminal

2011-01-10 Thread Miłosz Kosobucki
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: software-center

I tried installing astah-community package from Change Vision
(http://astah.change-vision.com/en/product/astah-community.html) by
dowloading a .deb package and double-clicking it. Software center
constantly showed that package is installing. I had to kill software-
center and few other processes (dpkg etc.).

Then I tried installing it from the console with dpkg -i command.

It turned out, that te package requires user to see the license (opened
by less) and type 'yes' to accept it. GDebi seems to support it, but
software-center doesn't, what makes such packages uninstallable for less
advanced users.

[Bug 290515] Re: Errors in kern.log cause long boot time

2008-11-05 Thread Miłosz Kosobucki
I tested my laptop with intrepid livedc for 32 and 64bit versions and the
results are the same. Booting the kernel stops at some point (usually after
something about SCSI subsystem or usb stuff) and I have to press keyboard
buttons to eventually get to the gdm.
Below is part of my dmesg dump. note this huge pause:

[2.582437] forcedeth :00:06.0: setting latency timer to 64
[2.603007] No dock devices found.
[2.618374] SCSI subsystem initialized

msi desc-v3
[ 272.240978] ACPI: PCI Interrupt Link [LUS0] enabled at IRQ 18

I just left my laptop run for 19 minutes and it did nothing. When I came back
and pressed some random keyboard buttons it started loading again (but I still
had to press the buttons). I am attaching full dmesg.log file. After getting to
starting services (these with [ OK ] at the end of each line) computer
seems to carry on normal boot.
On the other hand Hardy liveCD seems to boot normally.

[Bug 153358] Re: bcm43xx cannot suspend mac

2007-10-26 Thread Miłosz Kosobucki
I have the same problem. I tried both amd64 and i386 versions of gutsy
and used bcm43xx-fwcutter (through restricted-manager) to get the
firmware. My computer is HP notebook (dv6510ew). In fwcutter I used the
firmware from internet link that was provided. I also tried several
other firmwares (like this:
http://downloads.openwrt.org/sources/wl_apsta-3.130.20.0.o from
http://linuxwireless.org/en/users/Drivers/b43 and
bcm43xx_compwiz18.1-all.deb firmware (got it somewhere on forum)) with
the same result. I also tried extracting firmware from windows vista
driver (bcmwl6.sys) but fwcutter told me that this file doesn't contain
any firmware.

I don't know what the problem may be, because the card is listed as
compatibile with the bcm43xx driver. So maybe firmware is incorrect, if
so restricted-manager should check it and point proper firmware to me.

With these errors card is listed in iwconfig but can't find any network
(and network is present because on windows it gets detected with about
80% strenght).

This is lspci outpu about my card:

03:00.0 Network controller [0280]: Broadcom Corporation BCM4312 802.11a/b/g

Flags: bus master, fast devsel, latency 0, IRQ 16
Memory at b020 (64-bit, non-prefetchable) [size=16K]

I have something very similar on Pavilion (dv6510) notebook with amd64
processor (Turion) and GeForce 8400 GS card.

It's the same also on 32-bit version of gutsy beta. I've tried firmwares

[Bug 109932] Re: String translated terrribly in exo

2007-04-25 Thread Miłosz Kosobucki
Ok, I've found exo on Rosetta. I had this problem because simply searching for
"exo" on launchpad translation page didn't give any results. So, to anyone in
charge. Please confirm this translation:
https://translations.launchpad.net/ubuntu/feisty/+source/exo/+pots/libexo-0.3/pl/176/+translate
ASAP.
Form "Nośnik %s" is the correct one.

[Bug 109932] String translated terrribly in exo

2007-04-25 Thread Miłosz Kosobucki
Public bug reported:

In English Volume can mean a hard drive or sound loudness level. In
Polish there are two separate words for this. In exo someone probably
the wrong suggestion. So now, on freshly installed xubuntu desktop I can
see something like that:

14GB Sound Level (translated from Polish)
instead of
14GB Volume

originally it looks like that
14 GB Głośność
instead of
Napęd 14 GB or Nośnik 14GB

There is no way to translate exo via Rosetta (or at least I didn't
notice one) so how it should be handled? It just looks tragically.

[Bug 96430] Re: MASTER: Request for new-legacy nvidia drivers (9631)

2007-03-28 Thread Miłosz Kosobucki
Nvidia is probably going to support 96xx line same way ax 71xx. If they weren't
going to support it they would probably write 9631, not 96xx. It wouldn't be
wise to support people with very old cards and left the ones with much newer
hardware.
I think that indeed we need three packages for nvidia drivers.

[Bug 96611] Third package for nvidia-glx is needed

2007-03-26 Thread Miłosz Kosobucki
*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 96430 ***

Public bug reported:

Nvidia is now obsoleting next pack of older video cards. According to
this:

http://us.download.nvidia.com/XFree86/Linux-x86/1.0-9755/README/appendix-a.html

all cards older than 5xxx series (nv30 afair) are no longer supported in
latest drivers. This means that probably three separate packages will be
needed for nvidia drivers as described in above appendix.

As Sitsofe Wheeler noted in his comment
(https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xorg/+bug/91064/comments/7)
we need these three branches:

o Legacy 71xx drivers (broadly GeForce 2 and below) (now nvidia-glx-legacy)
o New legacy 96xx (broadly GeForce 2MX- GeForce 4 4000)
o "Supported" new drivers (broadly GeForce 5000 and above) (now nvidia-glx)

If it's not fixed soon it will make a real mess with drivers when
1.0-97xx series are in the main repositories because many people still
use GeForce 4 cards (which are most affected) and restricted-manager
will assume that the card needs nvidia-glx package.

2007-03-25 Thread Miłosz Kosobucki
I've also noticed one thing. Even that I selected polish language at

frontend is also in english when I start some administrative

I'm just installing xubuntu 7.04 beta and because I selected polish
language in the first page of the installer it is downloading
openoffice. The same occurred in Edgy. Probably language-selector has
preset list of packages to install regardless of the system type
(xubuntu, ubuntu, kubuntu). Probably there should be diffrent lists for
diffrent systems.

[Bug 91064] Re: nvidia-glx-legacy has disabled GL by default

2007-03-24 Thread Miłosz Kosobucki
So, now we will need three packages for nvidia drivers.

nvidia-glx
nvidia-glx-legacy
nvidia-glx-even-more-legacy
:)

I looked into my xorg.conf file in my other system (gentoo) where I have
GeForce 6600. It didn't have AllowGLXWithComposite set and the
acceleration was working so probably we don't need this option with
latest drivers. However I need:

Option "AddARGBGLXVisuals" "true"

to be set in "Screen" section to have Beryl running properly. Without
it, Beryl didn't show windows decorations (however everything else, like
wobbly windows, cube) was working.

[Bug 91064] Re: nvidia-glx-legacy has disabled GL by default

2007-03-22 Thread Miłosz Kosobucki
The problem is also present with restricted-manager. When nvidia legacy
driver is installed it cannot handle composite extension. So, either
composite should be disabled with driver installation or

Option "AllowGLXWithComposite" "true"

should be added to Device section in xorg.conf .

So, I can confirm the bug. It was present in edgy and now in Feisty it's
still there.

[Bug 92849] Re: Restricted drivers manager damages my xorg.conf [Nvidia Legacy Drivers]

2007-03-22 Thread Miłosz Kosobucki
There is however still a little problem. When I used restricted-manager
to intall driver for my GeForce2 GTS it didn't set the xorg
configuration correctly. By default, composite extension is turned on in
Ubuntu. But nvidia-legacy driver can't handle GLX with Composite
extension without AllowGLXwithComposite option. So after installation of
this driver I still didn't have 3d graphics. I think that restricted-
manager should automatically turn off composite extension or add
AllowGLXwithComposite option.

[Bug 92849] Re: Restricted drivers manager damages my xorg.conf [Nvidia Legacy Drivers]

2007-03-17 Thread Miłosz Kosobucki
In my case the restricted-manager found that I have legacy card
(GeForce2 GTS), it showed "NVIDIA accelerated graphics driver (legacy
cards)", but nevertheless when I clicked "Enable" it installed the
nvidia-glx package instead of nvidia-glx-legacy. Then it completely
messed up the xorg.conf file setting some ridiculous driver:

Section "Device"
Identifier "Generic Video Card"
Driver "apm"
BusID "PCI:1:0:0"
VideoRam64000
EndSection

apm is the first driver in the xorg driver list and it looks like it
just picked up the first one one the list. Of course the system refused
to launch X after these changes so I manually set xorg.conf to use "nv"
driver again. I think this is very important to resolve this bug soon.
Restricted-manager should better know which driver to install and handle
modifications of xorg.conf better.

I can confirm that bug. In my case it occurs both on GUI installer and

I'ts probably not the matter of free disc space because there is still
about 500mb of free space after the failed installation. I was
