Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: gdm
Not sure if this is actually related to gdm, but when I searched through
help files on my PC autostart seems to be a gdm thing.
On a clean install of Karmic (with all updates done) the startup
applications specified in System / Preferences / Startup Applications
seem to work fine. I added a couple: Rhythmbox, Ubuntuone, Mail-
notification and Dropbox (www.getdropbox.com). Now none of the startup
applications run. The volume-control and network icons are also gone
from the gnome panel.
I tried deleting and recreating the user. I was able to add Rhythmbox
which started fine, but adding the others reproduces the problem.
I have looked around in some of the log files, but am not really sure
where to look. If someone could point me in the right direction I may be
able to give more details
Thanks
Michael
