[Bug 987220] Re: System does not power off reliably when "Shut Down" chosen from GUI

2012-06-20 Thread Michael Heyns
I've had this problem with 12.04 for a while. Had no idea what caused
it. Found a fix in ubuntuforums renaming priorities in upstart scripts
but never bookmarked the thread(12.04beta)

Struggled on recent install until I noticed reboot/shutdown worked when
dropping to tty1 and stopping lightdm service. I have updated my AMD graphics
driver to Catalyst version 12.4 and so far everything is back to normal,
including plymouth.
Will see if it persist.

I have this problem occurring right after the first update of a fresh

above.

[Bug 573857] Re: Mxit not working in Empathy 2.30.0.1

2010-05-20 Thread Michael Heyns
This is requested from the user using purple_request_fields(), and I see that
telepathy-haze doesn't implement that API
(http://git.collabora.co.uk/?p=telepathy-haze.git;a=blob;f=src/request.c).

** Description changed:

  Binary package hint: empathy

Mxit for Empathy is not working (does not connect).

Pidgin client for Linux works well the difference thus far seems to be
that as soon as the client in Pidgin is configured you get another
options dialogue where you have to add an anti-bot code (enter the
numbers in the image deal) and you must also select your country etc.
This does not happen when using Empathy and I think this is the main
  problem...
