[Bug 578620] Re: Failed to open device `brother3:bus1; dev1': Invalid argument

2012-12-04 Thread Michel Briand
On Debian squeeze I've found something interesting :

# ls -dl /usr/lib64
drwxr-x--- 4 root root 4096 Oct 31 16:48 /usr/lib64

The permissions are too restrictive for non-root user to load the
libsane.so backend.

Something went wrong when the package brscan3 was installed

Salut Philippe,

NB: j'ai pas pu déchiffrer ton mail du 05/04 12:17. Pb MIME ? Email
vide ?

En effet il faut avancer. Tu as raison de me solliciter à nouveau.

We need debian dir to be separate from upstream source tree. This way, an
upstream tree (without debian dir) produces freewrl_1.22.5.orig.tar.gz
(note the .orig).

Then, when you unpack this and put your debian dir in it, dpkg-buildpackage
will DTRT and generate a freewrl_1.22.5-1.diff.gz, which contains the debian
directory.

See http://www.debian.org/doc/maint-guide/ch-update.en.html#s-orig-tar

[Bug 220964] Re: mozilla-js CFLAGS are unusable

2009-02-21 Thread Michel Briand
Comment:

I didn't find the equivalent of Debian libmozjs-dev in Ubuntu. Since I
do not need full xulrunner sources but only SpiderMonkey.

Furthermore full xulrunner CFLAGS provided by pkg-config have 2
drawbacks that makes my build to fail :

- include subdir stable and unstable (confusing)
- include an embedded expat.h (serious)

---
$ diff /usr/include/xulrunner-1.9/unstable/expat.h /usr/include/expat.h

< XMLPARSEAPI(const XML_Char*)
< MOZ_XML_GetMismatchedTag(XML_Parser parser);
< /* END MOZILLA CHANGE */

> #define XML_MICRO_VERSION 1

So to build FreeWRL package, I'm using libmozjs-dev (1.9.0.x) from
Debian stable.

And I install libmozjs1d (1.9.0.x) from Debian too, for runtime.

In configure.ac, thanks to Ian, we have :

$ pkg-config --cflags mozilla-js

[Bug 146324] Re: [needs-packaging] FreeWRL VRML/X3D Browser

2009-02-21 Thread Michel Briand
Hello,

you can find the package I've created for FreeWRL at :

http://kheb.homelinux.org/debian/

Sources are at :

http://kheb.homelinux.org/debian/upload/source/

FreeWRL has it's Debian files (debian/*) under upstream source control
(Sourceforge).

Cheers,
Michel

[Bug 138746] Re: CalDAV calenders do not work

2008-11-25 Thread Michel Briand
Hello,

I've upgraded to Ubuntu 8.10 to see if the problem could have disappear.
NO :(.

I totally agree with the comment from Justin about the simple calendar
server setup.

Personally I've set up a very simple solution with apache, mod_dav_fs
and ssl.

It works very well with Korganizer and the Lightning extension to
icedove / thunderbird.

Furthermore, I tested the file (-i) command on the .ics file. It returns
text/plain.
So I suspected that evolution-data-server would have downloaded the file from
https and ran the file command on it, having get that false result.

I fixed my /etc/magic file like this:

0 string/cBEGIN:VCALENDAR vCalendar calendar file
!:mime text/calendar

And I re-tested file (-i) on the .ics file. No problem. It reports
"text/calendar".

But no change in Evolution. I took care of possible "cache" and removed
the calendar from Evolution window, completely shutdown Evolution, and
restarted it.

So, to conclude : no way to make Evolution work with a simple CalDAV
solution.

What next ?
