[Bug 893096] [NEW] Pulseaudio server is not starting automatically at login
Public bug reported: I have tried to delete the ~/.pulse directory but the symptom is always the same. No sound at login, if I try to move the volume slider nothing happens and ps -ef | grep pulseaudio shows nothing. I have to run pulseaudio --start -D several times until it finally "takes" and sound is then available until I log out and in again. Example: mick@DragonsLair:~$ pulseaudio -D --start E: [pulseaudio] main.c: Daemon startup failed. mick@DragonsLair:~$ pulseaudio -D --start E: [pulseaudio] main.c: Daemon startup failed. mick@DragonsLair:~$ pulseaudio -D --start E: [pulseaudio] main.c: Daemon startup failed. mick@DragonsLair:~$ pulseaudio -D --start E: [pulseaudio] main.c: Daemon startup failed. mick@DragonsLair:~$ pulseaudio -D --start E: [pulseaudio] main.c: Daemon startup failed. mick@DragonsLair:~$ pulseaudio -D --start E: [pulseaudio] main.c: Daemon startup failed. mick@DragonsLair:~$ pulseaudio -D --start mick@DragonsLair:~$ Same happens if I kill the daemon and try to load it again. This is the same if the ~/.pulse directory was first deleted. It was working fine under the previous version. /desktop/gnome/sound/enable_esd is set to "True". [Bug 348104] Re: [Jaunty] Amarok-2 link XMLID_7_ hasn't been detected
Yes, also many thanks from me! My Amarok was chocking on some MP3s and played others just fine. After installing the phonon-xine backend and making sure that the library is installed everything works fine. -- [Jaunty] Amarok-2 link XMLID_7_ hasn't been detected https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/348104 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 94373] Re: Intel_hda alsa/realtek codec feisty no volume
*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 93263 *** https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/93263 Sorry, I should have done more research... There is another Bug logged (https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux- source-2.6.22/+bug/116326) and the fix in there solved my sound problems. You may want to check it out, it requires some compiling but it is quite straightforward (I could do it and I'm *very* rusty), Greetings Mick -- Intel_hda alsa/realtek codec feisty no volume https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/94373 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 95631] Re: postfix released (was. dist-upgrade failure (edgy->feisty) - SystemError from cache.commit(): installArchives() failed)
Hi, I tried to upgrade today and received a message to log a bug against update manager w/ the log files attached. I checked the 'main.log' file and found the same error message. Graphics card is an ATI RS482 [Radeon Xpress 200M] and I have not used any external drivers. The update was done via the network and the language is English. Unfortunately the system is unable to boot now (no error message, just hangs). ** Attachment added: "Log files from /var/log/dist-upgrade" http://librarian.launchpad.net/7385737/dist-upgrade.tar.gz -- postfix released (was. dist-upgrade failure (edgy->feisty) - SystemError from cache.commit(): installArchives() failed) https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/95631 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
