[Bug 2073049] Re: No sound on Huawei Matebook D14 AMD since Linux 6.8.0-38 [regression]
The sound card is correctly detected and the sound output is correct, using linux-image-6.8.12+_6.8.12-g45cc8a67794e-4_amd64.deb This kernel does not pass the Secure Boot (I guess it was expected). [Bug 2073049] Re: No sound on Huawei Matebook D14 AMD since Linux 6.8.0-38 [regression]
Also regarding this sound card: Since Ubuntu 24.04, the sound was indeed working, but with a very low output volume on the internal speakers. I traced the problem down to the "Headphone" mixer setting: it is an integer from 0 to 3, 0 is the default value, 3 is the suitable value in order to obtain a reasonable output volume. The problem is that this setting is not easily accessible (it is present in QasHCtl) and that it is not saved after reboot. My solution has been to add the following line to my .bashrc : amixer -c 1 set Headphone 3 Maybe there could be some easier solution for the basic user. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2073049 Title: No sound on Huawei Matebook D14 AMD since Linux 6.8.0-38 [regression] To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/2073049/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

I am posting the "Alsainfo.txt" part of the "ubuntu-bug linux" report, when booting on kernel 6.8.0-36, on which the sound works correctly. [Bug 2073049] [NEW] No sound on Huawei Matebook D14 AMD since Linux 6.8.0-38 [regression]
Public bug reported: This laptop has had non-functioning internal sound (based on AMD Renoir) until Ubuntu 24.04, which made it work thanks to a bugfix in the kernel. Unfortunately, the sound is completely broken with kernel from package "linux-image-6.8.0-38-generic" (6.8.0-38.38): the internal speakers are not even listed in the sound GUI (I am using "mate-volume-control", with Ubuntu-Mate. *** This bug is a duplicate of bug 1980271 *** https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1980271 Hi, thanks for opening a bug report. There is ongoing work to ensure that, after the user is notified, the snap is refreshed once the user closes it (https://bugs.launchpad.net/snapd/+bug/1980271). Pinning an app to the dock (or removing it), displaying its details, open it in a new window (for browsers, for example), and other functions normally available with the right click, are all tasks very hard to complete right now when the dock is set to auto-hide at the bottom (like trying to hit a target on a video game). [Bug 1970984] Re: Can't save files in a Folder in a Folder 22.04
Yes Trogdor, it seems to be the same bug as https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/nautilus/+bug/1971516 Can confirm that when selecting the file name box this issue does not happen. This explains every single behavior I've described. On a second thought, this issue doesn't seem to be related to "top level directories" whatsoever. The observed behavior of top-level directories emerges because when you click on any shortcut on the left the file name box is selected. Another thing I've noticed is that both Chrome, Firefox and Telegram have a full screen file save dialog. Software that have a resizable file save dialog (or a custom file save dialog) don't seem to suffer from this behavior. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1970984 Title: Can't save files in a Folder in a Folder 22.04 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/nautilus/+bug/1970984/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

I also had problems and got to this page when looking for a solution. The delay command didn't solve my problem. Well, it actually works, but by default the event description is folded in (I just see the title), and I must click on the small arrow to unfold it. [Bug 1932579] Re: snap pt_BR locale shows warning every time
Hi (or Olá for the PT crowd). I think snapd just wasn't refreshed, @ioguis' output doesn't show it: ``` $ sudo snap install snapd --edge || sudo snap refresh snapd --edge [sudo] senha para my-user: 2021/09/18 12:54:59.334587 main.go:176: description of prepare-image's "" is lowercase in locale "pt_BR": "o directório de destino" snap "snapd" já está instalado, consulte 'snap help refresh' ``` `snap install ` (when run on an already installed snap) returns 0. So the right-side of the `||` didn't run and snapd wasn't refreshed to edge. @iogui, can you run `sudo snap refresh snapd --edge` and let us know if `snap list` logs the warning? I've just tested with edge and the fix seems to be working. If you still see the warning, then could you please run `snap version` and post the output? [Bug 1875056] Re: locate-pointer (w/ ctrl key) not working
My bad: the feature is now working (with CTRL key and of course not "any" key). I was using sudo dconf-editor to set the key and of course I was actually setting therefore the root user's desktop feature. Setting true my user's key still wouldn't work but setting then "enable- animations" true made the trick. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1875056 Title: locate-pointer (w/ ctrl key) not working To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-shell/+bug/1875056/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1875056] Re: locate-pointer (w/ ctrl key) not working
AFAICT, my left CTRL key is working but I won't be able to enable this feature. Actually looking at Thomas's screenshot I've noticed that the dconf setting apparently has been moved from settings-daemon/mouse to desktop/interface, what explains that I wouldn't found the key definition in the schemas.xml file even in the deprecated-keys section. But setting the key true in the new config won't enable either. I can also notice that toggling the key value in dconf won't change the the value in the "official" Settings/mouseand keyboard section or even in the Tweak app. And BTW the new dconf description reads that the pointer location will be be triggered by pressing *any* key (?) - as can be seen in Thomas's screenshot. Seems like the gnome shell is still expecting for the old key activation. I've tried to add the "locate pointer" in the schemas.xml's settings-daemon/interface but it won't show up aon dconf and won't activate anything either (even after reboot). Would there be a way to redirect the key from desktop/interface to settings-daemon/mouse so that the shell could grab it ? I'm on 21.04.

[Bug 1922459] Re: restricted-ssh-commands regex check is not properly escaped
Hello Seth, you're completely right plus the example was flawed as it also matches a empty string. The issue seems to be particularly to the system itself, several hardware issues showed up after the report, maybe somehow that cause the false positive. [Bug 1817350] Re: Running 'aptitude update' clears hold flags on packages
I can confirm the problem is present in Debian GNU/Linux 9.11 (stretch) and Ubuntu 18.04.3 LTS. I noted the issue after run by the second time an Ansible playbook with the apt module. As a workaround, I set `force_apt_get: yes` in the apt module. It's very odd this behavior because in my case the file `/var/lib/aptitude/pkgstates` already existed. The first time I ran `aptitude update`, the command cleared all hold flag in packages that had set before; also 'hold' was removed from the status field here `/var/lib/dpkg/status`. Then I marked again the packages with the hold flag and I run `aptitude update`, `aptitude safe-upgrade`, `apt-get update`, `apt-get upgrade`, `apt update` and `apt upgrade` without issues. Any hints are welcome! [Bug 1849987] Re: empty space when on list view and when back to icon view
Bingo! After "nautilus -q" it appeared some message about some python-extension. I've found out the issue was related to an old "nautilus-terminal" python extension. Since the extension wasn't installed with apt or pip, i ran the following commands: sudo rm -r /usr/local/lib/python2.7/dist-packages/nautilus_terminal* sudo rm -r /usr/local/share/nautilus-python/extensions/ (note that under "usr/local/share/nautilus-python/extensions/" there was only a nautilus-terminal file) The issue then ceased to exist. After that, I could go to dconf-edit and go to: "org > flozz > nautilus-terminal" and "erase the key" since no schema was available. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1849987 Title: empty space when on list view and when back to icon view To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/nautilus/+bug/1849987/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1850130] [NEW] zpools fail to import after reboot on fresh install of eoan
Public bug reported: Fresh installation of stock Ubuntu 19.10 Eoan with experimental root on ZFS. System has existing zpools with data. Installation is uneventful. First boot with no problems. Updates applied. No other changes from fresh installation. Reboot. External pool 'tank' imports with no errors. Reboot. External pool has failed to import on boot. In contrast bpool and rpool are ok. Actual Behavior - (1) Open nautilus in list view OR (2) Open Nautilus in icon view and then switch to list view - List view occupies approximately 55% of the space between the top bar and the bottom.
