[Bug 1475893] [NEW] Very poor performance on full-screen 1x1 landscape images
Public bug reported: With geeqie in full-screen mode (under xfce4), viewing fairly large- resolution images, at full resolution (i.e., after hitting "z"), and with landscape format images, screen updates are very slow. That is, though image updates are essentially instantaneous (like, going back and forth through a directory of images) when the above conditions are not met - when the image is a portrait-format image (greater height than width), or when the image is not viewed at 1x magnification, or when the application is not full-screen - updates are very slow when the conditions *are* met. The "eye of Gnome" application, a comparable image viewer, is able to paint full-screen 1x landscape format images quickly on the same platform. [Bug 926905] [NEW] FontForge cannot start if an X resource has continued lines
Public bug reported: The X Resource Manager config file syntax allows entries to be continued across newlines. To do that, one preceeds the newline with a backslash. If such entries are present in the current resource database, the FontForge code that parses the resources fails (or it can fail sometimes, at least). The proximal cause is a call to the routine "copyn()" in the file Unicode/memory.c, such that the "n" parameter is negative. That makes the code think that "galloc()" has failed, and it exits. The code that makes the bogus "copyn()" call is the function "GResourceAddResourceString()" in gdraw/gresource.c. I didn't fully analyze the code that's trying to parse the string, but it's clearly making assumptions about the nature of the resource database lines that aren't true in the case of a continued, multi-line entry. [Bug 624684] Re: [arrandale] Lenovo U460 HDMI doesn't work
Update Now running Natty, I again attempted to get an external monitor working via the HDMI port. The "nvidia-settings" tool, it turns out, *does* recognize the external monitor. After some time tinkering with the system, I realized that the problem may be completely different. Specifically, what appears to be wrong is that the keyboard "Fn" key combination for the "switch video mode" key (Fn + F3, on the U460) is not handled correctly by the udev keyboard mechanism (or by something; I'm no expert). With the "/lib/udev/keymap" utility, I was able to see that pressing that key combination results in *two* keycodes: one, 0xDB, interpreted as "leftmeta", and a second, 0x19, interpreted as "p". Holding down "Fn" and repeatedly pressing "F3" results in just one 0xDB at the beginning and then a separate lower-case "p" for each subsequent keypress. I tried to follow the udev keyboard troubleshooting guide, but nothing I tried made the system respond with anything different. I then found a tool called "disper" (not in the Ubuntu repositories), which allows for screen switching with the NVidia drivers, and with that tool I was successful in getting the laptop to drive the external monitor. Therefore, I don't consider this a problem with the display subsystem at all, at least not in Natty. Note that I'm running the laptop with its BIOS set up to force the NVidia hardware and bypass the Intel hardware. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/624684 Title: [arrandale] Lenovo U460 HDMI doesn't work To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xserver-xorg-video-intel/+bug/624684/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 46530] Re: process_queue: Assertion `dependtry <= 4' failed.
actually I'm not sure about the offending package; it may have been libxine-x but I have little experience (well OK no experience) in figuring out such things. I uninstalled xine and re-installed, and now my system is OK I think. -- process_queue: Assertion `dependtry <= 4' failed. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/46530 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is a direct subscriber. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 46530] Re: process_queue: Assertion `dependtry <= 4' failed.
Also seeing this in Intrepid after a (considerable) batch of updates this morning. The offending package seems to be libc6. -- process_queue: Assertion `dependtry <= 4' failed. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/46530 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is a direct subscriber. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 64490] Re: Assertion `dependtry <= 4' failed.
*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 46530 *** https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/46530 As I noted in bug 46530, this is happening to me as of this morning with Intrepid. The offending package appears to be libc6, which was apparently updated recently. If there's information I can provide, note it. -- Assertion `dependtry <= 4' failed. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/64490 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 120282] Gnomp3 appears to not work at all
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: gnomp3 I installed gnomp3 into an Edgy 64-bit (AMD) installation. Upon startup, the application requests a path in which to search, although it's not clear what for. If that dialog is dismissed, the application seems willing to do nothing else except exit. If a path is entered instead and the dialog "OK" button clicked, the application immediately crashes. ** Affects: gnomp3 (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: Unconfirmed -- Gnomp3 appears to not work at all https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/120282 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
