[Bug 1571786] [NEW] Broadcom 43602 requires module to be reloaded to work

2016-04-18 Thread Mike O'Connell
Public bug reported:

Running 16.04, and a recent update (last week?) introduced the following
issue.

I have a Broadcom wireless card:

02:00.0 Network controller: Broadcom Corporation BCM43602 802.11ac
Wireless LAN SoC (rev 01)

Upon startup the network will connect fine. Then after about a minute
it will drop out. Possibly related to the following in dmesg:

[ 163.870916] brcmfmac :02:00.0: Direct firmware load for
brcm/brcmfmac43602-pcie.txt failed with error -2

If I rmmod and re-insert brcmfmac it works until the next reboot.

[Bug 424598] [NEW] networks with multiple access points roam too frequently

2009-09-04 Thread Mike O'Connell
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: network-manager

When connecting to wireless networks with multiple access points with
the same SSID, the nm daemon repeatedly tries to associate. Generally
the connection will only last a minute or two. Both the nm-applet and
knetworkmanager (the new kde4 version) front ends have the same issue.

The syslog reads as follows:

[Bug 346078] Re: do not announce ath_pci on systems where ath5k is running

2009-04-01 Thread Mike O'Connell
on my lenovo T61
ifi0: Atheros AR5424 chip found (MAC 10.3, PHY SChip 6.1, Radio 10.2)
ath_pci: wifi0: Atheros 5212: mem=0xdf2f, irq=17

ath5k results in very unreliable connections and the card will even drop off
the pci bus (see bug# 342409)
but Jockey didn't show the madwifi driver as an option
My network card only worked when I manually blacklisted ath5k only then did the
madwifi driver option show in jockey...

I think the madwifi driver should always show if they have an atheros
card with the existing "don't install unless your networking is broken"
warning unless of course we can be smart enough to automatically (which
it sounds like is really hard).

[Bug 203023] Re: PHP Startup: Unable to load dynamic library '/usr/lib/php5/20060613/imagick.so' - libWand.so.9

2008-05-04 Thread Mike O'Connell
As a temporary fix you can simply symlink to libWand.so.10 and
libMagick.so.10, nothing dramatic changed between imagemagick 9 and 10.

sudo ln -s libWand.so.10 libWand.so.9
sudo ln -s libMagick.so.10 libMagick.so.9
