[Bug 933296] Re: LibreOffice-Impress can not play slide show

2012-03-14 Thread Mingming Ren
I have the same problem, even with terminal.
It creates a new window to show the slide, but with incorrect content.
You can right-click on this window, mouse wheel can change page, but nothing
refreshes.
This happens with all documents.

pcm.!default {

ctl.!default {

Then restart the browser.

[Bug 865400] [NEW] GDK_NATIVE_WINDOWS=true should no longer be exported

2011-10-03 Thread Mingming Ren
Public bug reported:

GDK_NATIVE_WINDOWS=true is exported from the eclipse starting script due to the
bug https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/458703.
But for the current version in oneiric, setting this variable causes a problem
of overlay-scrollbar:
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/overlay-scrollbar/+bug/769277
After some tests, I can tell that removing GDK_NATIVE_WINDOWS=true from
starting script makes overlay-scrollbar work perfectly with eclipse. And it
doesn't trigger the bug 458703.
Thus we should remove this from starting script.

[Bug 725327] Re: bash 4.2 does not save history (~/.bash_history) when using close window

2011-03-31 Thread Mingming Ren
Recent update of bash (4.2-0ubuntu3) integrates a upstream patch for
this bug.

 # DP: bash-4.2 upstream patch 008

 BASH PATCH REPORT
 =

Bash-Release:   4.2
Patch-ID:   bash42-008

Bug-Reported-by:Doug McMahon mc2...@optonline.net
Bug-Reference-ID:   1299441211.2535.11.camel@doug-XPS-M1330
Bug-Reference-URL:
http://lists.gnu.org/archive/html/bug-bash/2011-03/msg00050.html

Bug-Description:

Bash-4.2 does not attempt to save the shell history on receipt of a
terminating signal that is handled synchronously. Unfortunately, the
`close' button on most X11 terminal emulators sends SIGHUP, which
kills the shell.

This is a very small patch to save the history in the case that an
interactive shell receives a SIGHUP or SIGTERM while in readline and
reading a command.

The next version of bash will do this differently.

There's an invisible region at the center of screen.
Any mouse click, wheel or keyboard event will be discarded in this region.
I remembered it occurred long time ago and had been fixed.
Probably a regression in recent upgrade.

[Bug 716008] [NEW] strange bahavior on directory completion with bash built-in commands

2011-02-09 Thread Mingming Ren
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: bash-completion

The recent upgrade of 1.3 version has a strange behavior on directory
completion.
For example, with 1.2 version bash-completion,
$ ls /us
then TAB will complete with
$ ls /usr/
Then a second TAB will prompt files in the /usr/ directory.

But with 1.3 version,
$ ls /us  TAB
gives
$ ls /usr
It's then impossible to prompt files in the directory.

[Bug 622171] [NEW] terminator no longer shows current path as window title

2010-08-22 Thread Mingming
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: terminator

Terminator used to show the current path as its window title, but now it only
shows /bin/bash as the window title.
Maybe it's related to the upgrade of vte?

/usr/lib/jni/libswt-awt-gtk-3555.so

$ find /usr/lib/eclipse/configuration/org.eclipse.osgi/bundles/ -name '*swt*'
it finds nothing.

It seems that eclipse is trying to load swt 3557, but only 3555 is present. I
tried to make soft link but still failed.
By the way, I have only one version of xulrunner.

$ dpkg -l | grep xulrunner
ii  xulrunner-1.9.2   1.9.2.8+build1+nobinonly-0ubuntu1

Thanks

[Bug 585106] [NEW] incompatible with qt 4.7?

My system is a 64bit maverick.

[Bug 585135] [NEW] GBK encoding does not work in 4.7.0 beta1?

2010-05-24 Thread Mingming
Public bug reported:

My system is a 64bit maverick.
After a recent upgrade to qt 4.7.0 beta1, GBK encoding does not work properly
in qt-linked programs.
For example, qterm. All chinese characters in GBK encoding are messed up.
I tried a 32bit qterm package and it works properly, probably because the
ia32-libs still includes a 4.6 version of qt.
So I believe the GBK support in qt 4.7.0 beta1 is broken.

[Bug 576986] [NEW] xelatex does not recognize .pstex figures

2010-05-07 Thread Mingming
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: texlive-base

texlive-xetex 2009-7

Xfig can export a combined ps figure with two parts: a .pstex and a .pstex_t
The .pstex file is actually a EPS file:
last_step.pstex: PostScript document text conforming DSC level 2.0, type EPS

But xelatex gives an error:
ERROR: Unable to load picture or PDF file 'Figures/machine.pstex'.

Then I changed the default postfix from .pstex to .ps or .eps, and it
compiles without error.

So the problem is that xelatex does not recognize .pstex figures, even after I
added a line in my tex file:
\DeclareGraphicsExtensions{.eps,.ps,.eps.gz,.ps.gz,.eps.Z,.EPS,.pdf,.PDF,.pstex}

By the way, latex can compile correctly.

[Bug 560859] Re: My swap memory gets full after 5-6hours of computer usage on 10.04

2010-04-20 Thread Mingming
Another observation is that when I try to disable swap when the system becomes
so slow,
sudo swapoff -a
It fails, and gives an error like Cannot allocate memory.

I'm wondering if this is related to xorg or intel video driver.
When the memory is occupied,

cat /proc/dri/0/gem_objects

shows more than 1G object bytes.

I remember last year, there was a serious memory leakage in intel video
driver. But I'm not sure if it's the same bug.

[Bug 252144] Re: Alt-tab causes keyboard lockup

2010-03-27 Thread Mingming
I'm using IBUS and compiz, and I get the same problem.

But when I change compiz to gnome-shell, everything's fine.

Thanks, I've removed it from my ppa. I think Marc's patch is better.

Done, I copied the packages to karmic.
You can try ppa:portis25/test.

[Bug 512615] Re: fonts are incorrectly rendered due to not using system cairo

2010-01-28 Thread Mingming

People who are not patient for a fix in the repo can add my ppa.
ppa:portis25/test, currently only for lucid.

I did nothing but forced the option --enable-system-cairo.

[Bug 490006] [NEW] Qt does not respect DPI setting

2009-11-29 Thread Mingming
Public bug reported:

In my Karmic, although I set all font sizes as 10, qt apps always display a
smaller font that gtk apps.
After some investigation, I found that the DPI setting in gnome is 96, but

$ xdpyinfo | grep reso
  resolution:94x94 dots per inch

$ xrdb -q
 Xft.dpi:   96

After setting DPI to 94 in gnome, I got a same font size in both qt and gtk
apps.
But I think 96 is a more accurate value for my monitor. So I tried to set DPI
in ~/.fonts.conf
match target=pattern
  edit name=dpi mode=assign
double96/double
  /edit
/match

But Qt doesn't respect that setting. It always considers DPI as 94.

[Bug 485362] [NEW] pdfimport doesnot work properly on some PDF files

2009-11-19 Thread Mingming
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: openoffice.org

I have some scanned pdf files which I want to import into openoffice for some
modification.
But when I import them, all pages are blank. However, it works with the
normal pdf files, i.e. pdf files generated from text.
I'm sure that in Jaunty I did not have such problem. I tried to downgrade to a
lower version of pdfimport but the problem remains.
