[Bug 1866454] Re: Intel NUC5CPYH - dual mouse pointer display when booting with two screens
Just tested on Ubuntu Mate 20.04.4 and - second mouse pointer still present on the right edge of the second screen, centered vertically (almost outside of screen just 2-3 pixel inside) as before, no change. - it looks like the artifacts on current mouse pointer no longer present, (not tested enough time, as artifacts does not appear always immediately) I do not use this system anymore for desktop use for more testing (is more like a mobile file server and occasional mobile desktop use) I will upgrade lo latest Ubuntu Mate and return with checking -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1866454 Title: Intel NUC5CPYH - dual mouse pointer display when booting with two screens To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/xserver-xorg-video-intel/+bug/1866454/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1364079] [NEW] User Profile Image is missing "Select from stock" menu option
Public bug reported: On a fresh install of XUbuntu 14.04.01 I tried to select a stock image for my profile. The only two menu options presented were "Capture from camera" and "Browse". I looked on another system with Ubuntu 14.04 installed and found that the profile icons belong to the gnome-control-center-shared-data package. On my XUbuntu system I installed gnome-control-center-shared- data and that fixed the problem. Mugshot now has the menu option "Select from stock" and was able to select one of the stock images for my profile. So it appears that mugshot or the base system is missing a package dependency to install gnome-control-center-shared-data. Steps to reproduce: 1 - Click on Settings 2 - Click on About me 3 - Click on the image button The menu options presented below the image should be "Capture from camera" and "Browse". "Select from stock" is missing from the list. The help button on the Mugshot dialog box has a helpful visual description at this URL: http://wiki.smdavis.us/doku.php?id=mugshot-docs:usage Steps to fix: In a terminal window, type apt-get install gnome-control-center-shared-data This package installs a number of .jpg images in /usr/share/pixmaps/faces 1 - Click on Settings 2 - Click on About me 3 - Click on the image button The menu options presented below the image show ""Capture from camera", "Browse", and "Select from stock". What I don't really understand in the whole threading vs. signals discussion is why the kernel cannot buffer in a queue of some sort those signals before processing them. [Bug 306346] Re: lirc-modules-source gives an error while building with dkms
@Kenny: Sorry I wasn't clear. Step 1 is done: I installed the package from your PPA and the DKMS build succeeds. It was only after replacing the lirc_imon driver that the DKMS build failed (step 2). Just in case, whe you have the time to look into step 2, here is the info you asked for: uname -a Linux mircea-laptop 2.6.27-11-generic #1 SMP Thu Jan 29 19:24:39 UTC 2009 i686 GNU/Linux After installing you lirc-modules source package, I changed the lirc_imon.c file and I ran the following: $ dkms --remove -m lirc -v 0.8.4a --all $ dkms add -m lirc -v 0.8.4a $ dkms build --verbose -m lirc -v 0.8.4a I attached the output of the build. @ Kenny: I did an apt-get remove and then an install. The problem is that the "remove" deletes the updated driver, and then the "install" installs the old driver. [Bug 306346] Re: lirc-modules-source gives an error while building with dkms
@Kenny: Yes, I meant that the DKMS build still fails. But the error I get is the same as the one listed above, while the file changed was another driver file. So I'm not sure it's an error due to an "arbitrary replacement of files." Moreover, the whole point of this package is (as far as I know) to allow for the replacement of driver files. Thanks again for putting the effort in to figure things out - maybe you can try to look into this, if you have the time? Steps to reproduce: 1. Install lirc-modules-source from your PPA 2. replace lirc_imon.c in /usr/src/lirc-0.8.4a/drivers/lirc_imon/ with the latest CVS version at http://lirc.cvs.sourceforge.net/viewvc/lirc/lirc/drivers/lirc_imon/ 3. run dpkg-reconfigure lirc-modules-sources The error is again: Error! Could not locate lirc_atiusb.ko for module lirc in the DKMS tree. You must run a dkms build for kernel 2.6.27-11-generic (i686) first. Done. Thanks again for all the help. [Bug 306346] Re: lirc-modules-source gives an error while building with dkms
Kenny, thanks for looking into this. However, I think the problem was partially solved. The package installs successfully, but... What Iwas trying to do was to "update" one of the lirc modules. [Bug 67647] Re: Installer window resizes beyond screen limits
I found the same problem (but in another form) in the Kubuntu 8.10 installer, but trying with a larger number of partitions in a virtual machine. Basically, the installer window grows horizontally (beyond 800px on 800x600) when having the following partitions: sda1, sda5, 6, 7... 20 + free space. This is indeed extreme and it highly unlikely. Well, an acceptable solution would be to have the partitions drawn in the available area and shrinking the size of the rectangle for a partitions when more partitions are being added. Currently, the rectangle is stuck with the width of the "sdaX" label inside it. If that wouldn't matter (and the info would be shown also in a tooltip), I believe the result would be acceptable. For my case, this looks better, but it still doesn't scale for the "highly unlikely situations". -- Installer window resizes beyond screen limits https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/67647 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Re: [Bug 183733] Re: find/replace for formatting a regular expression won't work
Hi Chris, Thanks for your reply. I still wonder though - why don't you use standard regular expressions? I'm sure you can find libraries for them so they're easy to integrate and everyone in IT knows them. Are these actually MSWord -style regexes? I must confess I am annoyed by those and also they are less powerful. [Bug 183733] find/replace for formatting a regular expression won't work
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: openoffice.org I have a document with mixed chinese characters and (pinyin) latin characters and I want to format all latin characters with a Gentius font. So I tried using find/replace as follows: Find[a-zA-Z āēīōūáéíóúǘǎěǐǒǔàèìòùǜ]+ Format (any) Replace $0 Format Gentius Options : [x] Regular expressions What it does is replacing my text with $0 (literally). Using \0 instead of $0 or the empty string (as in MSWord) doesn't work any better. (When using formatted find/replace in MSword it treats the empty string as $0) I'm using OO 2.3.0 on Ubuntu 7.10. Heh, to my surprise, when Installed OSS v4 with my script (http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=655100), I tried to see if Banshee works. So it's really not a Banshee problem, or a Totem one (though I installed the xine variant of it), it's an ALSA one, and as I can't have more than 2 sound sources pumping at a time (one directly, one via alsa-oss), Banshee couldn't play.
