[Bug 456637] Re: Please consider turning powermizer OFF
Wanted to add a me too - I've been experiencing frequent artifacts on screen leading to eventual system instability. I've been running for 22h without one hiccup since I forced the Nvidia Powermizer to performance mode. It seems that before the 190 series drivers the only way to do this is to use srikumar's method above, however in the newer drivers (190 series) there is an option in Nvidia-settings to change the Powermizer settings. It would be great if we could include this as an option in the nvidia-settings for drivers prior to the 190 series. Nvidia must have included that option for good reason, so it only seems logical that it should also be included in previous versions. I honestly believe this would solve alot of issues that people are having running the latest NVidia drivers from the repo's 185.18.36. -- Please consider turning powermizer OFF https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/456637 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 446611] Re: nvidia compiz scrolling items rendering errors
I notice the same behaviour running nvidia 185 driver with compiz enabled in Opera web browser. Scrolling further down the page to clear the gap off the screen and returning back to the same spot seems make the blank area disappear. I've also had X lock on occasion when I scroll quickly down a page. Sometimes X recovers, other times it locks up hard and I have to alt+sysrq+K to restart it. -- nvidia compiz scrolling items rendering errors https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/446611 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 438873] Re: Compiz crashes after leaving a fullscreen application
I'm also having hard lock ups here requiring a alt+sysrq REISUB to reboot. Noticing it happen while playing the openGL game Wolfenstein:Enemy Territory while compiz is enabled. Just wanted to add an 'also affected' -- Compiz crashes after leaving a fullscreen application https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/438873 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 153204] Re: [MASTER] Applications are flickering/flashing in full screen mode
I recently ran into this bug with my nvidia 185.18.36 driver for my GTX 260 running an up-to-date copy of Ubuntu Karmic. while finding a workaround to enabling fullscreen Youtube videos with opera and Firefox. The fix states to uncheck the 'undirect fullscreen windows' option, which did indeed work. However this created some horribly choppy behaviour in Wolfenstein:Enemy Territory. So as a benchmark I would like to suggest it, the game itself doesn't display a loss in FPS, but you will notice objects 'jumping' when you move around the map. For the time being I've rechecked the option in compiz, which fixes the jumping in ET but I do miss my fullscreen Youtube vids. -- [MASTER] Applications are flickering/flashing in full screen mode https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/153204 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
