[Bug 1453538] Re: Invisible mouse pointer
What worked for me on 14.04.3 was the grub change above. Removed the "quiet splash". That alone seemed to work. Had tried many other things including all the lightdm restarts, etc. - none of those worked. Also went into the Displays setting and noticed it had an "internal" display and a 2nd display which was the real existing display. Turned off the "internal" display. [Bug 1392062] [NEW] you said someone was trying to change my system
Public bug reported: You came on and said that someone was trying to change my system, and did I want to debug. Don't know anything about how to do this, so I simply took out windows and reloaded Ubuntu, because you did not come back on and tell me anymore information, so I did not know what happened. I took out windows completely, but do not know if putting Ubuntu back in deleted the problem. Because it is still showing my log in as going back later than the time that I put Ubunto back in yesterday. So I am not sure what I am supposed to do. I no longer have Windows, which they had gotten in past my Kaspersky antivirus. So not sure where to go from here to make sure they have not changed my system and are not on my computer anymore. [Bug 584438] [NEW] (Scim) Input support requires irrelevant packages
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: firefox Going to System, Administration, Language support and checking the input methods option (press Install/Remove languages to access menu) for at least east asian languages will force annoying and irrelevant packages to be installed in Lucid (10.04). It suddenly wants to install: gimp-help-common gimp-help-en gnome-user-guide-en I already had gimp installed and it was happy the way it was without this crap. I don't have room for these useless packages and I really don't have bandwidth to be downloading them on my dialup-like Clearwire connection. This is not an isolated problem. There are a lot of nonsensical dependencies for packages in ubuntu, but this one is pretty outstanding as language input has nothing to do with the above files. [Bug 484426] [NEW] package mysql-server-5.1 5.1.37-1ubuntu5 failed to install/upgrade: subprocess installed post-installation script returned error exit status 127
Public bug reported: This failed to update because I stupidly deleted the folder /etc/init.d/mysql. Now apt-get remove, purge and install all fail because the files are not there. I wanted to purge mysql-server and reinstall it from scratch. Now I really can't do anything because I don't have the files that I deleted. BTW - The reason I wanted to purge mysql in the first place is because I couldn't get it to work because of a lot of privilege related problems so I decided to start from scratch using the mysql 5.1 reference manual. There are a lot of people with these issues. It would be great if they could be automatically resolved during installation.
