I need to press the mute hotkey on a Macbook Pro 5,3 twice in order to
mute. I haven't tested this on other hardware.

As of now the project is dead. I just don't have the time to work on it.

If someone else is interested in continuing then I'd be glad to hand over
the launchpad team's ownership.

bwalex's code along with PhilippeDePass's patch works great over here.
Is there any chance that someone can package this so that more people
can benefit from the fix?
