[Bug 544596] Re: Songs not transferred from music store to U1 storage

2010-04-22 Thread Neil Grover
I've been following this bug and to date it isn't completely fixed.

Here is my experience:

1) Using U1MS in Rhythmbox I purchased the song "Sun is Shining (Yes King
Remix) - Bob Marley & The Wallers Roots, Rock, Remixed"
2) After paying for song with PayPal and going to the "My downloads" tab, I get
the eternal "Transferring to your Ubuntu One storage"
3) I've tried leaving the download page, coming back, etc. Nothing worked and
it is "stuck"
4) I did an update this morning
5) I still get the eternal transfer message
6) I went to the online Ubuntu One interface which I don't normally do, and I
saw my music there.
7) The song is nowhere to be seen on my computer. Not in Rhythmbox or in my
Ubuntu One virtual folder

Now, I haven't been to the online file manager for a while so I don't
know if the song was visible there from the start. So... there is still
bugs related to the desktop integration (Nautillus and Rhytmbox)

[Bug 264287] Re: zoom keys dont work in my microsoft natural keyboard 4000

2010-04-17 Thread Neil Grover
*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 313514 ***
https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/313514

No dice in 10.04. I don't know where this problem originates... it's
probably not Ubuntu related but for the record I'd thought I'd let
people know it still doesn't work in 10.04.

[Bug 104558] Re: Nautilus cpu usage of 100%, locks up when pressing the view-menu

2009-01-15 Thread Neil Grover
I just experienced similar problems in 8.10 Intrepid. Here is what was
happening:

1) Click on the menu to launch nautilus (Places ->Home Folder)
2) Nautilus launches, turns grey within 10 seconds, and consumes 90%+ cpu. Only
way out is to kill the nautilus window
3) I did a reboot but still happened. Basically, not sequence of reboot, login
etc would cause the problem to go away.
4) after reading the above i wondered if there was a file in my home folder
that needed to be moved / deleted etc. So what I did was use a terminal, cd
into my home directory, and deleted files (one of each .jar, .png, .log, .iso,
.jpg).
5) repeated step one after deleting some files from my home directory and
voilĂ , everything was back to normal.

[Bug 92992] Re: Laptop speakers won't mute when using headphones

2008-07-01 Thread Neil Grover
This problem persists for me also on my Asus V1S.

WORKAROUND !!

I followed this workaround and now my headphones work as expected:
http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=582089&page=2

Basically

* Add/change the following line in /etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base:
"options snd-hda-intel model=lenovo"
* Go to System > Settings > Audio > choose Device: HDA Intel (...) and Channel:
PCM
* If you use the applet in the gnome-Panel to control the volume: Go to [right
click] -> Settings -> Device: HDA Intel (...); Channel: PCM
* You may want to turn up the volume of the Front channel to almost 100%
* Reboot

This is not fix but it does make it work.
