[Bug 685372] [NEW] Battery applet cannot give a remaining time for battery - stuck on "calculating..."

2010-12-04 Thread Nick HS
Public bug reported:

Hi, I have a HP dv2-1123ax and when left-clicking on the Gnome Power
Applet it states that "Laptop Battery (estimating...)" and does not give
me a time remaining for battery life. However I can find the percentage
remaining easily by looking in /proc/acpi.

[Bug 437498] [NEW] [Hewlett-Packard HP Pavilion dv2 Notebook PC] suspend/resume failure

2009-09-26 Thread Nick HS
Public bug reported:

Suspend/resume fails (what more do I say?). Opening the lid starts the
machine but screen remains blank. It has a Radeon 3410 using the open
source drivers. No closed source drivers are installed.

There are also some error messages on boot, which appear to slow down
boot up and cause usplash not to start. Shall attach a picture later

ProblemType: KernelOops
Annotation: This occured during a previous suspend and prevented it from
resuming properly.

[Bug 323245] [NEW] Video Corruption with ATi X1300 and open drivers

2009-01-30 Thread Nick HS
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: xserver-xorg-video-ati

When doing nearly any activity (however most noticable with docky and
htop) white sporiadic flashing lines on the right of the screen appear
in conjunction with movement (via mouse or scroll on keyboard).

Running 9.04 Alpha 3 and the open source ati drivers on a ATi X1300.
Version of xserver-xorg-video-ati: Installed: 1:6.10.0-1ubuntu1

I tried to capture it recordmydesktop however it didn't show up.

Thank you for reporting this. Could you please try installing gconf-

editor in the terminal and then go to Apps (its the little folder near
the top left) then to gnome-terminal and then to keybindings. You will
see a load of options appear on the right. Go down to the one that says
"set_terminal_title" double click it and a dialog window will popup.
Select the Type as Integer and the Value as 0. Press okay, close all
your open terminals, and (hopefully) everything will be fixed.

2008-10-03 Thread Nick HS
Thank you for reporting this bug and trying to make Ubuntu better. Could
you please edit the boot options and remove quiet and splash. This
should boot up without a pretty ubuntu logo and progress bar but display
what is happening. Please look out and record any possible error
messages.

2008-10-03 Thread Nick HS
Thank you for reporting this bug and trying to make Ubuntu better.
Unfortunately we can't help you fix it as we don't have enough
information. What video game were you playing? How long exactly? And
most importantly what "how" is the video card broken?

[Bug 277041] Re: audit2allow doesn't work

2008-10-02 Thread Nick HS
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. Unfortunately, we can't fix it because your description
didn't include enough information. What exactly do you mean when the
program audit2allow does not work? Does it start up, does it crash
often? Where did you get this program as it does not appear to be in
Ubuntu Repositories.

You may find it helpful to read "How to report bugs effectively"
http://www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/~sgtatham/bugs.html. We'd be grateful
if you would then provide a more complete description of the problem.

Thanks!

[Bug 215068] Re: pidgin crashes when message window is left clicked repeatedly

2008-04-11 Thread Nick HS
It seems to be when you select and drag text out of the window. For
instance clicking, highlighting and then dragging some text out of the
window causes pidgin to crash. For me this happened in the #ubuntu IRC
room but not on the #ubuntu Chanserv. I can provide a video if that
would make it easier

[Bug 144726] Re: weird display during gutsy installation just after xresprobe

2007-09-25 Thread Nick HS
I also have noticed this with some laptops I have installed on. However
the image is more of a "ghostly" type image and the computer dosnt boot
up properly. Usually the alternate cd is the best way to get around this
bug. I have also found this bug with Debian, it seems to happen with
only ati mobility cards (from my limited installs)
