[Bug 901879] [NEW] Installer crash using CD
Public bug reported: Using standard CD - checksum matched. Burned CD at low speed and verified (in Windows). Error as per (automatically) attached logs. [Bug 901879] Re: Installer crash using CD
@Brian Murray, It would appear you are correct. Further tests proved the hard drive is faulty. All in order now that a new hard drive has been installed. For the record, memory is fine and system self-diagnostics reported no fault apart from the hard drive (S.M.A.R.T Hard drive failure immenent) Sorry for the wasted bug report! [Bug 192508] Re: mouse keys turns on randomly
Turbolad : Please read https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/192508/comments/52 - It could help. The biggest issue I've noticed is that this happens with Remote Desktop enabled. Can anyone else confirm this? I have a fresh install of 10.04 and had bug 549727 and this bug. Thanks, Nick -- mouse keys turns on randomly https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/192508 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 549727] Re: [10.04] Touchpad stops working after login
I would like to add that I DONT have a trackpad or touchpad installed, and use an MS Wireless Multimedia Keyboard V1.0A (WUR0335).. This issue presented itself and the keyboard would just stop working. The menus in 10.04 would highlight (i.e Applications, Places and System) but no dropdown would occur. I disabled any desktop effects to no avail. At first, I kept hitting the power button on the machine to switch off and on, as the menus would not respond, however, as un-scientific as it is, if i pressed my hands on as many keys as possible, I was given an Ubuntu Notification then my keyboard stopped working. The notification looked like a trackpad, so I looked in the notification folder, found the icon, and found what normally uses it for notifications (BTW - There was no record of the notification in the log!) From there, it led to this bug, and to this fix : gconftool-2 --type string --set /apps/gnome_settings_daemon/keybindings/touchpad ~Which runs at every login. I know, elegant, eh? This is a fresh 10.04 install.. One thing I did notice tho, is bug 192508. That bug could be related to Remote Desktop.. Is there a possibility this could also be? Does anyone have RD Enabled? [Bug 239193] Re: Firefox closes randomly when loading web pages, possible java or flash problem?!?
Program received signal SIGSEGV, Segmentation fault. [Switching to Thread 0xb7c776c0 (LWP 10826)] 0xb018431c in ?? () from /usr/lib/flashplugin-nonfree/libflashplayer.so Looks like the flash player is playing up.. I got a SIGSEGV, then that error. I'll uninstall the non-free version, and play around with one of the other options.. [Bug 239193] Re: Firefox closes randomly when loading web pages, possible java or flash problem?!?
Same here - problem cannot be reproduced. This has only started happening since v3 was installed through the auto updated in 8.04. When a website is visited, the browser just quits. No notices, no warnings. When starting it back up again, you get the Firefox closed unexpectedly - restore tabs options though. It then restores the page you initially had open before clicking the link. If you click the link again, it works fine. AFAICT - this only happens on link clicks - not with typing addresses into the address bar. I have noting in /var/crash , and I'll install the firefox crash thingie as suggested by them, see if I can get any more info. I'm going to have a guess at a flash related problem. I tried installing the Adobe verison of Flash direct from thier website to see if that recitified any problems, but it just dies again. I'll look into installing another flash option - but this may not be suitable for all users.
