[Bug 1266280] [NEW] Installer crashed in the end of install procedure

2014-01-05 Thread Niels Kjøller Hansen
Public bug reported:

I know, I do not have very much information, but the installer crashed
at the end of the installer (the setup part, I think). I had just gotten
a "Trying to overwrite (...), file already in gstreamer-something or the
other."

Also, the interface seemed sluggish all the way through, maybe not
related to the crash.

[Bug 763101] [NEW] Only standard (low) resolution on ati-driver

2011-04-16 Thread Niels Kjøller Hansen
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: xorg

In natty beta 2, when using my AMD/ATI Radeon HD 4670 with the open
source driver, I only get choices of resolutions up to 1024x768, not the
desired 1280x1024, which my monitor runs. This is from a clean
installation, using the VGA plug (my monitor is an old LCD, VGA only)

Expected behavior: Running at monitors max supported resolution (1280x1024)
What happened: Ubuntu runs with 1024x768 (and a bit of random flickering, but
this is probably another bug)

It could also be a problem with the monitor not reporting correctly
through the legacy plug (VGA). In both Windows and when using the fglrx
driver, I can access resolutions up to 1600x1200, even though my monitor
does not support these.

[Bug 458512] [NEW] No sound in totem after one file has been played

2009-10-22 Thread Niels Kjøller Hansen
*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 456016 ***
https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/456016

Public bug reported:

I am not sure that this is a alsa bug, I believe it to be a specific
totem bug as all other apps work fine, both gstreamer and non-gstreamer
(VLC, system-sounds and Rhythmbox). But apport tells me that alsa-driver
is the correct package, so I guess I will start here.

The trouble is that if I add more than one audio file to the playlist,
when the first has been played, the other doesn't start. And, if I
double-click the first one, it won't start either.

If this is done with video-files, the first will play fine, but the
second plays without sound. One time, I experienced that the sound would
come back in the second clip after 10-20 second, but then strongly out
of sync, but I have not been able to reproduce this.

I use snd_hda_intel driver, if this has anything to do with it. To
repeat: everything else works just brilliantly. It seems to me that
something doesn't get reset/closed as it should, but I don't know
anything :)

2009-05-04 Thread Niels Kjøller Hansen
Sorry! I should have made a comment when I marked the bug invalid. The
problem disappeared at restart for me also.

I don't know if invalid is the right status, but the problem went away
with an upgrade.

[Bug 350384] [NEW] GTK File picker causes short freeze

2009-03-28 Thread Niels Kjøller Hansen
Public bug reported:

After upgrade to Jaunty Beta (from Intrepid), whenever I try to open or
save a file from a GTK program, the program freezes for 10-20 seconds. I
have currently tested with Epiphany, GIMP and Inkscape. The directory
which it opens doens't contain many files, and there doesn't seem to be
any increased CPU og harddrive activity during the wait.

** Affects: ubuntu
 Importance: Undecided
 Status: New

[Bug 144282] Re: Character encoding error when creating new profile

2008-08-29 Thread Niels Kjøller Hansen
The problem still occurs, although is isn't an issue for as I've changed
to Evolution. I just tested it with Hardy, and it stills import my name
as 'Niels Kjøller Hansen'.

[Bug 210472] [NEW] [Hardy] Timidity daemon doesn't play nice with pulse audio

2008-04-01 Thread Niels Kjøller Hansen
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: timidity

I had timidity installed on gutsy when I upgraded to Hardy. On gutsy, it
was natural for me that timidity daemon wouldn't play when other
applications were using the sound output (i.e. playing music in Totem or
Rhythmbox).

The same thing is the case with Hardy. But timidity can play midi-files
fine from the command-line when listening to music from Rhythmbox. So I
figure that this should be do-able from the daemon as well. I have been
poking around the /etc/init.d/timidity script looking for options, but I
am not good enough at this, so I was hoping someone else maybe could
look at the problem?

* Release: Hardy, updated april 1st 2008
* Package version: 2.13.2-19ubuntu1
* Current behaviour: Timidity daemon does not play along other music
applications, but timidity commandline tool does.
* Expected: Timidity daemon works in the same way as the command-line tool.

[Bug 144282] Character encoding error when creating new profile

2007-09-23 Thread Niels Kjøller Hansen
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: thunderbird

When trying to create a new profile, Thunderbird reads from the user
information that I entered in Ubuntu, automagically inserting my full
name. Neat feature, but:

What is expected: Thunderbird inserts my name correctly (Niels Kjøller Hansen)
What happens: Thunderbird inserts my name in a wrong character encoding (Niels
Kjøller Hansen)
