[Bug 1526195] Re: Long entries are partially hidden

2016-05-20 Thread Niklas Vainio
The UI has been improved in the next version (3.20), which might fix
this problem. That version is not yet available in the current Ubuntu so
I cannot test.

[Bug 1527867] Re: no "show hidden files" menubar item

2016-05-20 Thread Niklas Vainio
Sebastien, does the fix you mention affect the file chooser dialog?
Because that one should have some kind of menu. It took me years to
discover that I can use Ctrl-H to show hidden files or that there's a
context menu.

[Bug 1526201] Re: Folders starting with a dot cannot be added to exclude/include lists

2016-02-16 Thread Niklas Vainio
I just discovered that pressing Ctrl-H in the file selection dialog
shows hidden files and directories. This should be easier though.
Excluding cache directories etc. is a normal use case.

[Bug 1526195] [NEW] Long entries are partially hidden

Public bug reported:

[Bug 1522944] Re: Wifi broken and strange screen resolution after update

2015-12-14 Thread Niklas Vainio
It seems my system hadn't properly updated the linux-image-extra
package. Everything works now after that update.

This happened after I submitted the bug report:

Start-Date: 2015-12-05 08:15:45
Commandline: /usr/bin/unattended-upgrade
Install: linux-headers-4.2.0-19:amd64 (4.2.0-19.23, automatic), linux-headers-4.

4.2.0.19.21), linux-generic:amd64 (4.2.0.18.20, 4.2.0.19.21)

I had some problems related to the hplip package so I had to do apt-get
-f install:

Start-Date: 2015-12-08 15:08:27
Commandline: apt-get -f install
Upgrade: linux-image-extra-4.2.0-19-generic:amd64 (4.2.0-19.23, 4.2.0-19.23)
Remove: hplip:amd64 (3.15.11-0ubuntu1), printer-driver-postscript-hp:amd64
(3.15.7-0ubuntu4), hplip-gui:amd64 (3.15.7-0ubuntu4)
End-Date: 2015-12-08 15:09:15

I think this finally resolved the problem.

[Bug 1522944] [NEW] Wifi broken and strange screen resolution after update

2015-12-04 Thread Niklas Vainio
Public bug reported:

After update from kernel 4.2.0-18 to 4.2.0-19, my wifi got broken and
the video driver had some problems too, because my resolution was
downgraded to 1024x768. Boot startup screen was changed from a graphics
mode to a low resolution text mode (25x80 maybe).

I had to boot back to 4.2.0-18 to report this bug. Please let me know
what extra information is needed.

[Bug 851055] Re: [Oneiric] 'Not Authorized' error given when mounting device

2011-12-19 Thread Niklas Vainio
I got the same problems after upgrading to Oneiric (no mount, shutdown,
suspend). For me, there wasn't the autologin line in
/etc/lightdm/lightdm.conf so that didn't help. I tried downgrading
lightdm to 1.0.6-0ubuntu1.1 from 1.2, didn't help. Finally I switched to
gdm.

[Bug 106506] Re: OpenOffice.org Word Processor (oowriter) stays in "semi-fullscreen" mode no matter what I do

2008-07-10 Thread Niklas Vainio
I got this same bug recently. It appeared when I changed my Gnome top
and bottom panels to autohide. Changing them back to normal didn't
remove the bug. The problem only occurs with Writer, not Calc.

I got it fixed when I removed

Original Writer.xcu attached.
