I've checked the disk utility. System changed the names of the disks.
I have one 160gb harddisk named sda and 1tb harddisk named sdb.
If i put a flash drive then the names are changed. 160g is now called sdb , 1tb
is now called sdc
and flash is sda.

[Bug 680793] [NEW] Mounting on startup won't work if usb drive is plugged in

2010-11-23 Thread Nikola Pavlovic
Public bug reported:

I've put a disk /dev/sdb2/ in fstab to auto mount on startup. but if i put usb
memory when computer is powered off the disk won't mount.
how to replicate the bug:
1. put a disk in fstab to automount.
2. remove all usb drives, cameras etc.
3 restart computer. the disk is mounted
4. turn off the computer
5. put usb drive in
6. start the computer
7. it wont be able to mount it
If i try manualy mount /dev/sdb2 i get this

mount /dev/sdb2
NTFS signature is missing.
Failed to mount '/dev/sdb2': Invalid argument
The device '/dev/sdb2' doesn't seem to have a valid NTFS.
Maybe the wrong device is used? Or the whole disk instead of a
partition (e.g. /dev/sda, not /dev/sda1)? Or the other way around?

the filesystem on usb drive is FAT it might have confused usb drive with sdb
the usb drive might now be sdb and the hard disk might be sdc

When the CD-RW is blanked by a CD burning application (Brasero,K3B...) it isn't
detected by ubuntu and cannot be mounted.
How to make the bug happen:
1:blank a cd-rw with brasero
2:eject the cd
3: put it back in
cd will not be detected

i don't know which package to select.

[Bug 624515] [NEW] Chromium deletes it's cache when closed

2010-08-26 Thread Nikola Pavlovic
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: chromium-browser

Copying and pasting text from a webpage can only be done if browser is running.
But if i close the browser the text can't be pasted.
what i expected:to copy paste the text from a webpage into a text file opened
in text editor.
what happened:the "paste" button was inactive.
how to make the bug happen:
1:start chromium(this also happens in firefox)
  2:go to any webpage
3:select some text, right click and select copy
  4:don't close the browser yet
5:open text editor and paste the text
6:now close the browser and try to paste the text

Re: [Bug 623312] Re: Problem with typing filenames

2010-08-25 Thread Nikola Pavlovic
Open nautilus and press some letter keys. The letters will appear in the
lower right corner(just like in the screenshot).Until you delete those
letters you cant close the window. It's not a serious problem but it can be
annoying.
