[Bug 1628698] [NEW] Hibernate stopped working after upgrading to Xubuntu 16.04.1 LTS
Public bug reported: Hibernate has stopped working for me after upgrading from Xubuntu 14.04 LTS to Xubuntu 16.04.1 LTS. I tried Ubuntu Mate and Ubuntu Gnome, but it made no difference. Laptop model HP G42-303DX. lsb_release -rd Description:Ubuntu 16.04.1 LTS Release:16.04 uname -a Linux xubu 4.4.0-38-generic #57-Ubuntu SMP Tue Sep 6 15:42:33 UTC 2016 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux Expected behavior after clicking on "Hibernate" button in shutdown menu, or by running "sudo pm-hibernate" in a terminal would be for the laptop to go into hibernate mode. Actual behavior is that when resuming after hibernation, the laptop simply restarts. This worked in Xubuntu 14.04. I have also followed the instructions to enable hibernation as per https://help.ubuntu.com/stable /ubuntu-help/power-hibernate.html. Please let me know what additional information you require from me. [Bug 1303736] Re: [SRU] Black screen after wakeup from suspending by closing the laptop lid
After trying unsuccessfully to use all the fixes I found online, I finally managed it to fix this problem myself today: 1. Install Gnome Screensaver sudo apt-get install gnome-screensaver 2. Replace Light Locker with Gnome Screen Saver Do it first for all new users sudo vi /etc/xdg/autostart/light-locker.desktop Change the line from: Exec=light-locker to: Exec=gnome-screensaver and then do the same for every existing user su vi ~/.config/autostart/light-locker.desktop 3. Hide light-locker-settings from menu for all users sudo vi /usr/share/applications/light-locker-settings.desktop Add the line: Hidden=true Hope that helps everyone affected by his bug until Light Locker is actually production ready enough to warrant it's place in a LTS release. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1303736 Title: [SRU] Black screen after wakeup from suspending by closing the laptop lid To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/xfce4-power-manager/+bug/1303736/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
