[Bug 137388] Re: LIBGL_ALWAYS_INDIRECT set when it shouldn't be

2008-05-03 Thread Nino Aderri
In fact, that's not a real bug : compiz indeed sets LIBGL_ALWAYS_INDIRECT for
its own process and for his child processes only. compiz needs that to work
properly.
It means that if you start a terminal from the Gnome/KDE menu, you'll get
direct rendering: Yes. On the other hand, if you start gnome-terminal for
instance via compiz using a key binding for example, you will get direct
rendering: No (LIBGL_ALWAYS_INDIRECT set).

The problem is in fact a bit more complex : when I start gnome-terminal
from the gnome menu, I get direct rendering: No (LIBGL_ALWAYS_INDIRECT
set) : as I activated transparency for the background of gnome-
terminal, it starts as child process of compiz. So, all is all right :
xterm, which is very spartan and doesn't support transparency, prints
direct rendering: Yes when started from the gnome menu.

It would be great if the author of GENPO could create an icon for the
program. We could maybe use the GENPO logo on the amin page of the

[Bug 115820] [needs-packaging] GENPO

2007-05-20 Thread Nino Aderri
Public bug reported:

Homepage : http://genpo.sourceforge.net/
License : GPL

GENPO is the GENeral Purpose Organ. It is a program which replicates the
essential features of any pipe, theatre, or reed organ.

GENPO reads a description of an organ (a .org XML file) and presents a
suitable user interface for operating that organ. There are a number of
high quality organ SoundFonts freely available and the .org file maps
the stop sounds to organ manuals and stops. Other facilities such and
couplers and presets are available. You may connect one or more MIDI
keyboards to GENPO to provide the organ manuals, you can even assign one
to be the 'pedalboard' if so desired!

I've yet created an experimental package of this program for Ubuntu.

combined with full functionality. GENPO does not try hard to look
exactly like an organ console - but an organist should feel instantly at
home when presented with the console.

[Bug 104759] delirous uptime

2007-04-09 Thread Nino Aderri
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: ud

Well, the problem is quite simple to explain : currently, according to
ud, the uptime is 5657 days (Current Uptime: 5657 days, 14:44:48
running Linux 2.6.17-11-generic). I think that is quite a lot, and I
remember having rebooted my computer two weeks ago.

There's one thing that could explain this : i'm using the hibernate
function, that is to say that I'm hibernating the system during the
night.
