[Bug 803943] Re: compiz consuming a lot of cpu
I can confirm that CPU usage drops significally when vsync is disabled. To be specific: Vsync enabled: When computer is completely idle compiz cpu usage is 1-2 % When dragging the terminal window gently compiz cpu usage is approx. 30-35 % Vsync disabled: When computer is completely idle compiz cpu usage is 0 % When dragging the terminal window gently compiz cpu usage is approx. 15% The bad thing is that disabling vsync causes other significal problems such as not smooth window moving! -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/803943 Title: compiz consuming a lot of cpu To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/compiz-core/+bug/803943/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 769023] Re: [launcher] Pulsing animation while launching applications uses a lot of CPU and slows down application startup
I also want to report that the effect is not broken all the times. Strangely, sometimes its ok, sometimes its not. In addition, I notice that minimize effect is not always smooth (mostly in big sized windows) and I suppose this situation has to do with the bug. For example, if you snap a Chromium window to the right so it covers a relatively big part of the desktop, minimize it and restore it again, you 'll sometimes notice this behaviour. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/769023 Title: [launcher] Pulsing animation while launching applications uses a lot of CPU and slows down application startup To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/unity/+bug/769023/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 769023] Re: [launcher] Pulsing animation while launching applications uses a lot of CPU and slows down application startup
I think that this bug gives a pretty bad impression to the user, so in my opinion this bug should be marked as of high importance at all of the affected packages, given that the bug affects unity3d as well. [Bug 769023] Re: [launcher] Pulsing animation while launching applications uses a lot of CPU and slows down application startup
Just a small question: Does this bug concerns unity 2d only?
