Re: [Bug 835972] Re: after resume the Disconnected - you are now offline notification doesn't disappear
Hi! I can confirm the existence of this bug in the Ubuntu 11.10 based distribution Mint 12 (Lisa) under Gnome 3.2 (with the Mint Gnome Shell Extensions), even with all the latest updates installed. I read something about a patch some time ago, there it was about Ubuntu 11.04 I think. [Bug 886951] [NEW] Libre Office Writer: Horizontal scrollbar broken
Public bug reported: I use Kubuntu 11.10 (64-bit) on an Acer TravelMate 5740G Notebook. I created an odt-document with several images, some drawing and a table. When I choose a zoom factor at which the document cannot be shown entirely on my screen I am able to scroll vertically but not horizontally. This applies to both the page preview / print preview and the editing mode. The horizontal scrollbar is also displayed in a mutilated fashion (the arrows at the bar's ends are cropped). The scrollbar is broken, horizontal scrolling does not work. I would add a screenshot of the broken scrollbar, as well as the odt- file which causes the bug, but unfortunately rekonq crashes every time I try to add a file attatchment to a bug report. :-( ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 11.10 Package: libreoffice-writer 1:3.4.3-3ubuntu2 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 3.0.0-12.20-generic 3.0.4 Uname: Linux 3.0.0-12-generic x86_64 NonfreeKernelModules: wl fglrx ApportVersion: 1.23-0ubuntu4 Architecture: amd64 Date: Sun Nov 6 23:42:22 2011 InstallationMedia: Kubuntu 11.10 Oneiric Ocelot - Release amd64 (20111012) ProcEnviron: LANGUAGE= LANG=de_DE.UTF-8 SHELL=/bin/bash SourcePackage: libreoffice UpgradeStatus: No upgrade log present (probably fresh install) ** Affects: libreoffice (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: amd64 apport-bug kubuntu oneiric -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/886951 Title: Libre Office Writer: Horizontal scrollbar broken To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/libreoffice/+bug/886951/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 886955] [NEW] Rekonq crashes when adding attatchment to bug report
Public bug reported: I use Kubuntu 11.10 (x86_64) on an Acer TravelMate 5740G notebook. When I report a bug by typing the ubuntu-bug [package] command in a terminal and I try to add an attatchment to the report, rekonq will crash. This applies to all kinds of attatchments / file types. It happens every time, hence the bug is reproduceable. The file open dialog will appear, I can choose the file to attatch and click the upload button. I will get back to my bug report and the file path will appear in the attatchment area, but one or two seconds later rekonq crashes without an error mesasage. The file upload does not appear to start at all. [Bug 883522] [NEW] Gnome applications fail to launch under Kubuntu 11.10. FGRLX related problems?
Public bug reported: I am using Kubuntu 11.10 x86_64 (German Localization) on an Acer TravelMate 5740G notebook. When I try to launch the gnome alsa mixer (in lack of a good corresponding KDE application as it seems) it will not start. It appears in the task bar for a few seconds, but apart from that nothing happens. Then the program is terminated again without an error message. I have had the same problem in Xubuntu 11.10, so it doesnt' seem to be a KDE specific problem. However, I have had similar problems with other Gnome / GTK programs failing to launch. Both with Kubuntu and Xubuntu. I believe the errors are related to the FGLRX driver. When I installed it on the regular Ubuntu the Unity interface did not work anymore and the system became unusable. The same happened on Fedora 15 with Gnome 3, which I had installed before I switched to Ubuntu. As soon as I installed FGLRX the GUI became destroyed. Apparently there seem to be compatibility issues between FGLRX and Gnome 3 / GTK3 when you have a Mobility Radeon HD 5650 graphics card. The proprietary drivers tool offers me an update for fglrx (See screenshot! The nachträgliche Aktualisierung in brackets means supplementary update. Note the driver is misspelled FGRLX for the update!) but fails to install it. When I try the packages are downloaded but the installation fails with a general error message and fglrx is rendered unfunctional then. It needs to be reinstalled (the regular fgrlx package you can see on the screenshot) to work again. When I tried to install the driver with the fgrlx-installer directly downloaded from AMD the graphics system did not start anymore at all. So probably the error is in the fgrlx installer. -- COMMENT -- No screenshot attatched, because rekonq crashed every time I try to do it. [Bug 879951] Re: [Xubuntu 11.10] Touchpad breaks after wake-up from hibernation
Unfortunately I haven't managed to reproduce the bug so far. The system behaves somewhat unpredictable when it is woken up. It may work fine, the next time it may do the thing with the black screen and not responding. Last time it was the failure of the touchpad. By the way, what I forgot to mention: It wasn't only the touchpad, but the sound didn't work anymore either. The touchpad was plainly disactivated and could be brought back with the notebook's touchpad switch. Apparently the system forgot to reactivate it on wake-up. The sound was a bit strange: I could turn up the volume, and according to the OSD the sound was both activated and cranked up loud. But in the tray on the top right there was a mute symbol (a crossed out speaker), which I had to disactivate to bring back the sound. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/879951 Title: [Xubuntu 11.10] Touchpad breaks after wake-up from hibernation To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/879951/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

I actually came to the desktop then, and the system works as usual (I've had problems in the past with the screen turning black at this point and the entire system not responding anymore. I have filed a bug report on this some time ago), but my touchpad is not responding anymore. I have now plugged in an external mouse which works fine, but the touchpad is still disfunctional. I am hoping for a fix, wich could work by integrating a timer, causing the notification system to wait a few seconds before checking and posting the wireless netwrk status, so the wlan card is given the few seconds it may need. ** Affects: ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: notification wlan xfce xubuntu -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/879015 Title: Network disconnected notification pop-up after startup To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/879015/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 875745] [NEW] Xubuntu 11.10: Black screen on wake-up
Public bug reported: Hi! I am using Xubuntu 11.10 x86-64, German Localization. When I close the screen flap of my Acer TravelMate 5740G Notebook the system goes to sleep as it is supposed to (which didn't work under 11.04), but when I reopen it the wake-up fails: I get the login screen and can enter my password. But instead of coming back to the desktop then I get a black screen and the system freezes: It doesn't respond to any type of input anymore. I have to reboot the system after forcefully shutting it down (pressing power off for 5 seconds). This problem is reproduceable and occurs since I upgraded to Oneiric. Under 11.04 the system failed to fall asleep at all. Kernel Version: Ubuntu 3.0.0-12.20-generic 3.0.4 System information: attached. [Bug 875880] [NEW] Xubuntu 11.10: FGLRX update fails
Public bug reported: Hello! I am using Xubuntu 11.10, which was upgraded from 11.04, with all the latest updates installed. My system is an Acer TravelMate 5740G Notebook. The graphics card for which the FGLRX driver is being used is an ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5650. I switched from GDM to the LightDM display manager when I upgraded to Oneiric. The tool for proprietary drivers offered me updated package for the FGLRX driver (Which is displayed with the misspelled name FGRLX in the German localization) for installation. FGLRX, which was listed there as a separate item, was already installed and activated (I did this before I upgraded the distro), while the updated package was not. So I tried to install this, but it failed after the data download. However, my previously installed FGLRX driver didn't work anymore afterwards. I had to reinstall it, which worked fine. I did the whole thing twice, the error was reproduceable. When the installation of the updated package fails the appearing error message window refers me to the following log file: /var/log/jockey.log The log file is attatched to this report.
