Alright, fair enough. But why not change /etc/security/limits.conf to reasonable limits? For instance 512 soft 1024 hard nproc? That seems a lot better than allowing an infinite spawn of processes. I doubt people, even power users, will need more resources. Seems like the problem has something to do with defaults in fstab. Any partitions mounted with the "defaults" option will not show up on the desktop. I have the same problem. First time I get prompted for the pass phrase, I hit cancel and manually tell NM to connect to my router. Usually it connects after trying 2 or 3 times. Seems like the problem has something to do with defaults in fstab. Any partitions mounted with the "defaults" option will not show up on the desktop. Alright, fair enough. But why not change /etc/security/limits.conf to reasonable limits? For instance 512 soft 1024 hard nproc? That seems a lot better than allowing an infinite spawn of processes. I have the same problem. First time I get prompted for the pass phrase, I hit cancel and manually tell NM to connect to my router. Usually it connects after trying 2 or 3 times.
