[Bug 1292899] Re: [ASUSTeK Computer Inc. N55SF] suspend/resume failure

2014-04-28 Thread Oier Mees
I have the problem since upgrading to Trusty suspend and hibernate don't
work at all(not even, pm-utils). If I choose my old kernel
3.11.0-19-generic, everything works fine.

[Bug 914367] [NEW] Can't write german Umlaute/Dieresis after some time

2012-01-10 Thread Oier Mees
Public bug reported:

The problem is that after a variable time (20 min) of using texmaker to write
in german, it suddenly stops writing Umlaute. Usually you first press the key
for the symbol ¨ and afterwards enter the vowel to write ä,ö...
What happens is that it suddenly writes ¨ after pressing that key once, which
usually has to be pressed twice to write it without a vowel. So I have to exit
texmaker and restart it to enable writing Umlaute/Dieresis again.

I am using version 3.0.2 on Ubuntu 11.10

[Bug 809924] Re: debsums invalid package name

2011-08-30 Thread Oier Mees
After upgrading to Oneiric with errors(see bug #828759) I have an almost
unusable system because apt exits with error every operation.
Whenever I try to install or reinstall packages I get debsums errors and can't
perform the operation. Moreover, since trying to install updates for banshee
and firefox(update exited with the error of the bug description), they don't
work anymore (they worked in Oneiric before trying to update them) because they
freeze on startup and eat %100 CPU!!! (See #830012 for banshee)

2011-08-29 Thread Oier Mees
In my case at least, any apt update or installation terminates with
errors (see the bug description) so I don't know if an update would work
for me. As I mentioned earlier, updating working programs like firefox
makes them (afterwards) freeze on startup(beacuse the any update
terminates with error). I would be very thankful for any help.

[Bug 795897] Re: Dropping a file to the launcher icon when the program has more than one windows, makes the computer unusable

2011-06-17 Thread Oier Mees
Hi Bilal,
I was able to reproduce this bug on 3 different machines, two Nattys and one
Oneiric, all with the latest updates. I have updated the steps to reproduce it.
Could you please tell me if you were able to reproduce the bug?

** Description changed:

  Steps to reproduce:
- - open two firefox windows, then drag a html file to the icon in the launcher.
+ - open two firefox windows, then drag a html file to the icon in the launcher
and hold it until the scale plugin is activated, wait for 3-4 seconds and then
release themouse click.
  Expected result:
  - the file is opened in one of the windows.
  Actual result:
  - the scale plugin will activate and the file will be opened as a new tab in
one of the windows but the system cannot deactivate the scale plugin.
Cosequently, any other operations on the computer can not be performed, forcing
to a reboot.

[Bug 764744] Re: Add system setting icon to Launcher

2011-06-14 Thread Oier Mees
I agree with Matt Sturgeon and Dag. The Session is menu is the not a
place where a user would look for system settings and in my opinion the
Launcher is and should be place for frequently used apps (you don't
change settings everyday). So I think that a new entry in the Dash would
be the most logical and user friendly decision. Don't you agree?

[Bug 796344] [NEW] Internal input should not be muted as default

2011-06-12 Thread Oier Mees
Public bug reported:

On the sound preferences, the internal input is muted as default.
Consequently, if for example a new webcam is installed, the users always
wonder why ubuntu doesn't recognize the sound input. Since no
notification is shown, new users tend to think that the hardware is not
recognized.

[Bug 791467] Re: bump gcdmaster dependency on cdrdao to 1:1.2.3-0.1ubuntu2

is this bug specific to Ubuntu Studio Alternate? Because I can install
cdrdao on Natty without problems. Besides, when you say to bump the
version what exactly do you mean? Because in the control file the
dependency on cdrdao is listed as having to be of the same version as
gcdmaster.

Please try adding backtrace information for the developers, like your
/var/log/Xorg.0.log.old after the logout happens in order to pinpoint the
problem and find a reliable method to reproduce it.

[Bug 643895] Re: nvidia propietary driver fails to load X with geforce 310M

2011-05-27 Thread Oier Mees
I can still confirm this issue in Natty, after installing the latest
nvidia driver, ubuntu would log into gnome 2d. Apparently xorg.conf
wasn't changed so nvidia-settings recommended running nvidia-xconfig.
Afterwards, I couldn't start X again (no login screen etc).

Re: [Bug 784622] Re: ubuntuone-control-panel, language-selector, jockey and software-properties fail to start

2011-05-25 Thread Oier Mees
Wow, this is troublesome, apport fails to run!
$ apport-collect -p python-gobject 784622
Traceback (most recent call last):

module
from ._gi import _API, Repository
ImportError: /usr/lib/python2.7/dist-packages/gi/_gi.so: undefined symbol:
g_vfunc_info_invoke

if I run apport-collect or apport-bug without arguments I get the same error
message.
I don't mind having a broken system for some time if it helps to diagnose
the bug.

2011/5/25 Daniel Manrique daniel.manri...@canonical.com

 Oier:

It would be helpful if you could run the following command on a
terminal, this will collect dependency information for python-gobject
and attach it to this bug:

 apport-collect -p python-gobject 784622

That information might ease diagnosing your problem.

I recognize that keeping a system in a broken state is probably
burdensome for you. Thus, if reinstalling is an option for you, I'm sure
that doing a fresh Ubuntu 11.04 install will result in a fully-working
system, and you could certainly go that route. That being said, we
really appreciate you taking the time to report the bug and work with us
to perform diagnostics, so if you would like to see where this
investigation leads, and can spare a little more time with a broken
 system, we would be grateful.

 Thanks again!

[Bug 784622] Re: ubuntuone-control-panel, language-selector, jockey and software-properties fail to start

2011-05-18 Thread Oier Mees
in synaptic when I click on properties of python-object (which is installed
under the latest version), under dependency of it says conflicts: python-gi
replaces: python-gi
what does that mean?

dpkg --configure -a doesn't show any pending package.

[Bug 784622] Re: ubuntuone-control-panel, language-selector, jockey and software-properties fail to start

2011-05-18 Thread Oier Mees
Here is the output:
$ nm -D /usr/lib/python2.7/dist-packages/gi/_gi.so |grep g_vfunc
 U g_vfunc_info_get_invoker
 U g_vfunc_info_invoke
Debsums shows that everything is ok. I also reinstalled python-gobject but the
problem persists.
What can I try next? Many thanks.

[Bug 758839] Re: Lens doesn't start on login

2011-04-21 Thread Oier Mees
I also have the problem that the lense doesn't show any result (I have
installed it from the PPA) on startup(never). When I then run unity
--replace it sometimes works.
