[Bug 321043] Re: firefox crashed with SIGSEGV in getenv()

2009-02-28 Thread Oliver Aldwick
same here - i thought it was flash player non-free, but i've now
installed the native 64 bit one from adobe. I think it still happens,
but less often.

[Bug 38171] Re: Partitioner insists on formatting swap unnecessarily

2008-10-27 Thread Oliver Aldwick
Still true for hardy and intrepid.

N.b. the UUID of the swap partitions is changed by the installer, so if
you are installing multiple versions of ubuntu on one machine, even if
you do not use recognised swap in the new install, the swap will not be
mounted by the original installation. This is because the UUID is used
in fstab. A very useful alternative behaviour would be for intrepid to
automount any swap it finds (perhaps unless it contains a hibernated
image).

[Bug 283788] [NEW] repeated undismissable codec error dialogue when playing an rm file

2008-10-15 Thread Oliver Aldwick
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: totem

I first downloaded the source video

http://www.archive.ecs.soton.ac.uk/data/archive/arc/tinel.rm (using save
option from mplayer plugin within firefox)

open video, and there is a codec error (which I'm afraid I expected, but not
the bug here)
the error dialogue flashes up over and over again, so it is impossible to
dismiss without hammering escape before closing totem. It doesn't actually
crash.

Might be reloading the start of the stream over and over again, even
though it can't play it - looping?

** Affects: totem (Ubuntu)
 Importance: Undecided
 Status: New

[Bug 269963] Re: [intrepid] network-manager should recommend or suggest dnsmasq

dnsmasq-base only, as dnsmasq runs a daemon which prevents network
manager's command line invocation of the binary. documentation for nm is
so appalling.

command-not-found being called. perhaps this is a sudo bug.
