[Bug 1821538] [NEW] Xubuntu 18.10 with encrytion fails to boot with kernel > 4.18.0-10
Public bug reported: Xubuntu 18.10 64bit installation with "Encrypt the new Xubuntu installation for security" option checked runs normally, and also boots without problem. Then, if you perform an dist-upgrade, which result in a new kernel installed, and reboot, at the boot after a few seconds the message 'Gave up waiting for suspend/resume device" shows up, followed by a 'ALERT! /dev/mapper/xubuntu--vg-root does not exists. Dropping to a shell!'. Using the GRUB menu, choosing 'Advanced options for Ubuntu', selecting 'Ubuntu, with Linux 4.18.0-10-generic' (and only with that version) the system boots normally, asking me for the password, etc. Tested with every other kernel version, none worked. Tested on a Toshiba Satellite C55-B and Virtualbox 5.2.18_Ubuntu r123745 ** Affects: ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: boot xubuntu -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1821538 Title: Xubuntu 18.10 with encrytion fails to boot with kernel > 4.18.0-10 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/1821538/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
