+1 on this. I was about to make a bug report when I find this. For me notification is a stack processus don’t mater async or sync. But I can understand your thinking. [Bug 275956] [NEW] [intrepid] keyboard layout weird change
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: virtualbox-ose Hello. Here is my configuration : intrepid ibex with gnome in french (french-bepo layout). VirtualBox-ose 2.0.2-dfsg-0ubuntu3. I have a virtualize XP in french too. The problem : in XP, I can use my keyboard but the layout is not the right one (it’s not a qwerty). I already had this problem under hardy and VirtualBox 1.5.6 . I solve this by using the packages the other source : http://download.virtualbox.org/virtualbox/debian who provide me the 2.0.2 version of virtualbox : I’ll be able to install XP and use it. Updating to intrepid, the problem comes again. Under XP, the first line of the layout give me ge:qù and not AZERTY If I change the layout in gnome, no effect. With an other keyboards, no effect. If I switch the layout in XP, there’s some changes. Instead of ge:qù it gave me ge,a' I tried some solution from this bug : https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/virtualbox-ose/+bug/217057 with no effects. For the moment the « type of keyboard » in gnome préférences is on « edev ». Changing it don’t seems to change anything. The only solution is to use an other keyboard, on usb, directly in the virtual machine. So it’s look like there’s a problem with the interpretation of the keycode sent by the virtualbox to XP. Must I change something in xorg.conf (i xorg.conf still used ?). [Bug 147596] Re: [gutsy] the wifi « died » after a few minutes
Maybe this one is better. It was on sunday (the 30th), around 17:00 / 18:00 I think. My wireless is eth1 and my local network : uranie (WPA key) Now everything seems to work well (but I don’t use this computer a lot : it’s my girlfriend one). Since I install « esound » Do you want me to remove this package for test ? Here is the syslog. Today the wifi run well (I don’t use it much). But when I plugged back the cable it failed to found it. I had to « forced » it in network-manager applet. Same problem here (with an AMD64 and a dua-core dell laptop) On the AMD64 I get the sources of the last stable (2.0.11) and compile them : it seems to work (but I wanted to call the laptop… and my girlfriend don’t want me to mess her laptop with compiled things :o) — she’s wright !) -- ABI changed without a corresponding soname change https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/117732 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
Re: [Bug 130559] Re: Intel Corporation 82801H (ICH8 Family) HD Audio Controller (rev 03) - no sound
2007/9/24, nandemonai [EMAIL PROTECTED]: Just an odd update on my account. After a few more updates today (kernel included, being the same version which I thought was a little odd..?) I've realised that the system has gone ahead and installed Linux 2.6.22-12-386 AND Linux 2.6.22-12-generic kernels. Previously all I had was generic not the 386 version but for some reason the system has decided to choose 386 on it's own and set it to default. (Not sure what the differance is myself as I had assumed 'generic' was the 386 version). I'm running a Core 2 Duo E6400, Asus P5B Main board. The interesting thing in relation to the Audio device: Intel Corporation 82801H (ICH8 Family) HD Audio Controller (rev 02) is that If I run the generic kernel it works fine like it was previously yet under the 386 kernel 'no audio device found' (2.6.22-12). So for now I'm just booting generic and all is good. Hope this information is of some use. If the deities above require any extra info my end feel free to email me or what not. -- Intel Corporation 82801H (ICH8 Family) HD Audio Controller (rev 03) - no sound https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/130559 You received this bug notification because you are a direct subscriber of the bug. Thank's for your answer. I always run the « generic » kernel the « i386 » is not install. But it's a fresh install of ubuntu. Here it's a core2 too, but on a Dell inspiron 1520 It's strange that with the same card yours work and not mine :o( Do you have something like this : options snd-hda-intel model=3stack in /etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base ? Must I post this info on lauchpad or only when I find the solution ?
