[Bug 964406] [NEW] Rdp-connection full-screen opens in a window

2012-03-25 Thread Olli Kankare
Public bug reported:

Connected to an rdp-server with setting "use client resolution".Resolution is
correct on remote desktop.
Clicked to open the remote desktop as full-screen.

What should happen:
The remote desktop screen to go actually full-screen with an autohiding
control panel on the top.

What happens:
When clicking the remote desktop to full-screen, it opens as a window without
possibility to maximize to full-screen.
Remmina full-screen control-panel opens on the top of the actual desktop (as
it should) tho'.

Further info:
If the remote desktop is set full-screen (non-working), then disconnected and
reconnected, it actually opens as full-screen.
 Exiting full-screen reproduces the problem.

Running Precise beta1, with Unity version: 5.8.0, and ati fglrx.
Screenshot of the problem attached.

[Bug 835994] Re: minimizing a maximized window leaves artifacts on the screen.

2011-09-23 Thread Olli Kankare
This bug makes unity basically un-usable on a hp elitebook 2530p with
intel 9-series integrated graphics (and I presume on almost all other
computers with newer intel display-adapters).

Bug-status should be raised to critical.

[Bug 838381] Re: The cursor in active terminal window stops blinking after ten seconds.

2011-09-18 Thread Olli Kankare
I agree, many times the blinking cursor is just what is needed to
indicate that the focused terminal is working as intended or for example
a connection to a server is live.

Removing the blinking makes simple monitoring of the focused terminal
impossible.

Upstream should rethink their position on this, as I suspect the power
saved is so miniscule that it's completely neglectable compared to the
severe issues removing the blinking causes with the usability.

[Bug 838381] Re: The cursor in active terminal window stops blinking after ten seconds.

2011-09-17 Thread Olli Kankare
It's nothing I can't live with, but as stated in the original bug description,
it's somewhat annoying when you don't realize that it's supposed to do that.
Imho it deters users with more experience from upgrading.
The action should be some kind of extra power saving option and not on by
default.

Switching to terminal and restarting the lightdm service results in a

Unity reset and resetting compiz settings and plugins to default had no effect.
