[Bug 636074] Re: No sound from headphone jack or input from microphone with HDA Intel in Toshiba L635

2010-12-14 Thread Onilton Maciel
I think I have the same config.

Try installing the last version of alsa from the daily ppa.

It worked perfectly for me. (Althought I just tested the laptop speaker
and the headphone jack).

You can find instructions here:

https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Audio/InstallingLinuxAlsaDriverModules

Reply saying if it worked for you.

[Bug 518938] Re: black screen on Intel HM55 - during boot and Xorg

2010-03-05 Thread Onilton Maciel
Unfortunely I can't help in this bug anymore.

My laptop was stolen =(

But what I can tell is that I could get low graphics (recover) mode
using xorg daily PPA.

Using latest Kernel didn't make any difference.

I can confirm that installing raw Lucid Alpha 2 I can' t get any video.

The only way to get video although streched and in low mode is using de
xorg daily PPA.

That's all I can do know.

[Bug 518938] Re: black screen on Intel HM55 - during boot and Xorg

2010-03-01 Thread Onilton Maciel
I have almost the same problem but the solution that worked for Dotan
Mazor didn't work for me.

I didn't say anything because it was recommend that only the original
reporter should provide bug logs and description.

I think I can help, but what should I do?

Should I open a new bug report (a duplicate) as asked (and avoid mess in
bug reporting)? Or can I proceed from here?

[Bug 518938] Re: black screen on Intel HM55 - during boot and Xorg

2010-02-12 Thread Onilton Maciel
It didn't work for me. The greatest thing i've got was a shell without
using safe mode, but then it tries to use graphics and then I get the
blank screen again.

Maybe a did something different.

Which kernel (version) did you use? What version did you use AMD 64 or
x86?

I don't really know if my laptop supports x86.

Ah and my system keeps complaining about some usb related stuff did that
happen to you?

Thanks in advance

[Bug 518938] Re: black screen on Intel HM55 - during boot and Xorg

2010-02-09 Thread Onilton Maciel
** Branch linked: lp:ubuntu/karmic/xserver-xorg-video-intel

** Description changed:

  Ubuntu 9.10 Karmic Koala

Right after GRUB (during splash), and in Xorg (GDM) as well. When the
system needs to set the screen mode, the screen goes to black, loads a
bit more, and then the computer stops responding.

  Hardware:
  Mobile IntelĀ® HM55 Express Chipset

This is NOT an Ubuntu specific issue, since it also happens in other
  live CDs, such as Gparted.

The system had to be installed using an alternate installer.

GRUB solution: adding nomodeset solves the post-GRUB black screen, and
allows entering the command line in safe mode. The i915.modeset=0 option
  made no difference.

[Bug 518938] Re: black screen on Intel HM55 - during boot and Xorg

2010-02-08 Thread Onilton Maciel
My laptop is a Toshiba Satellite A 505 S6005. It has the same graphics
card and the same problem.

The point in this bug is that it make IMPOSSIBLE to install or use
ubuntu. I know that sometimes when the support for the graphics card is
not optimal you can have a low resolution. I know also when the graphics
card is very old or not supported anymore you will only get a low
resolution or will only use vesa one. That thing happens with some new
graphics card also.

The problem in this bug is that it make ubuntu unusable (from almost all
aspects), so it think it is a pretty serious issue.

I'm really willing to help with all information necessary on this issue
since I would like very much to use ubuntu in my computer.

[Bug 351681] [NEW] Gtkpod new icon/logo not displaying at gnome-menu

2009-03-30 Thread Onilton Maciel
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gtkpod-aac

Ubuntu uses the upstream version of Gtkpod in Jaunty, but there's a
problem wih gnome integration.

The new version of gtkpod introduce a new icon/logo that fortunately fix
the problem of that old ugly looking icon and the bad integration with
ubuntu/tango default themes.

The 32x32px version can be found in the directory:
/usr/share/icons/hicolor/32x32/apps/gtkpod.png

Unfortunately, in ubuntu, gnome-menu still display the old icon because
it still there in /usr/share/pixmaps/gtkpod-icon-32x32.xpm

I think that's just a matter of updating the icon at the package.

I don't know if this problem happens also with gtkpod or only with
gtkpod-aac. But I think it happens with both of them.

Ubuntu Jaunty Beta
gtkpod-aac 0.99.14-0ubuntu1

[Bug 235623] [NEW] freespeak crashes when I click New

2008-05-28 Thread Onilton Maciel
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: freespeak

I installed freespeak just to try it out. It seems like a program that
were not updated for a long time. Anyway, it could be cool and still
available at ubuntu repos, so it should be working.

When a open a terminal window and type freespeak and run the program,
everything works fine.
I just got this messages that doesn't seem serius:

/usr/lib/python2.5/site-packages/freespeak/freespeak.py:359:
GtkDeprecationWarning: gtk.threads_init is deprecated, use gtk.gdk.threads_init
instead
  gtk.threads_init()
/usr/lib/python2.5/site-packages/freespeak/freespeak.py:375:
GtkDeprecationWarning: gtk.threads_enter is deprecated, use
gtk.gdk.threads_enter instead
  gtk.threads_enter()

But when I launch the program through menu or Alt+F2, it launches, then I click
New the program stops responding...

And I have to close it
