[Bug 477430] Re: grub 2 error: out of disk. failed to boot default entries. press any key to continue...
Same problem here! My computer (Compaq evo n600) doesn't have a hard-disk, since i've replaced it with a compact flash card (thanks to a CF-IDE adapter). After serveral boots, I get the out of disk error. I'll try tonight to remove the line if [ -n ${have_grubenv} ]; then save_env recordfail; fi. Which file must I modify? I suppose I have to boot from a live CD in order to make the change. -- grub 2 error: out of disk. failed to boot default entries. press any key to continue... https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/477430 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 477430] Re: grub 2 error: out of disk. failed to boot default entries. press any key to continue...
Ok, I've commented the line and it boots again! The error message out of disk is still displayed, but at least it boots. I've also commented the line in the file /etc/grub.d/10_linux , because the file grub.cfg is generated. -- grub 2 error: out of disk. failed to boot default entries. press any key to continue... https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/477430 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 257638] Re: Not possible to change permissions of a LVM partition using udev
Hi, I've typed sudo udevadm test /block/dm-8 udev_test.log because i've got an error permission error and my partition is dm-8. My rules is 99-vg-vxp.rules, if I use a number lesser than 85 it doesn't work, because of the rule 85-lvm2.rules (I presume). For your information, here is the content of 85-lvm2.rules : SUBSYSTEM==block, ACTION==add|change, ENV{ID_FS_TYPE}==lvm*|LVM*, \ RUN+=watershed sh -c '/sbin/lvm vgscan; /sbin/lvm vgchange -a y' By default, watershed is not installed, so I installed the package chiark-utils-bin and then libnettle2. The dependencies are missing, but it is an other bug. ;-) I'm not sure if it is a udev bug, it's perhaps a LVM bug, because the bug occurs only at boot time! ** Attachment added: udev_test.log http://launchpadlibrarian.net/16774440/udev_test.log -- Not possible to change permissions of a LVM partition using udev https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/257638 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 257638] [NEW] Not possible to change permissions of a LVM partition using udev
Public bug reported: Hello, I would like the user orus to be the owner of /dev/mapper/vg-vxp (a LVM partition with dm-raid). I add a udev rule : NAME==mapper/vg-vxp,OWNER=orus Then I execute : sudo /etc/init.d/udev restart All is fine! But when I reboot my computer, this rules seems to be ignored, and root is the owner of /dev/mapper/vg-vxp ** Affects: udev (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Not possible to change permissions of a LVM partition using udev https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/257638 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
