[Bug 1658401] [NEW] keyboard layoyt chart does not scale
Public bug reported: The keyboard layout chart that can be seen when running gkbd-keyboard- display, or through System Settings -> Text entry -> (Keyboard icon) does not scale very well when scaling the display (System settings -> Screen display -> Scale for menu and titlebars), I have it on 1,5 normally. Chars are cut off and not every one is displaying at all. Resizing the window does nothing for the scale, and is very laggy, freezing the entire dekstop for several seconds. It loooks really ugly. Clearing /var/cache/powertop is just temporarily making powertop run without the BUG message, it is coming back for me after a while. It is still an issue. [Bug 1075417] Re: Unity panel height and launcher width don't scale with system DPI/font settings
Surprised that this is not a more pressing issue, higher resolutions start rolling out on high end laptops all over and Unity is not fit for fight here. I just got a 3200x1800 13.3" laptop and using Unity on this screen is not for the faint of heart. Sure I could scale everything with xrandr but that is just an ugly workaround. [Bug 1169437] Re: network-manager dnsmasq openvpn DNS issue
Sorry for not replying earlier but I actually got this working eventually. I'm on version: $ NetworkManager --version 0.9.8.0 I do have dns=dnsmasq now and it's working if I set the Method to "Addresses only", manually specify the DNS servers and search domain. No issues anymore. I haven't tested if NM will use the DNS servers automatically and I cant really do that right now as I need working VPN for work, so I don't dare experiment with it. :) I will test further during christmas when I get some time off. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1169437 Title: network-manager dnsmasq openvpn DNS issue To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/network-manager-openvpn/+bug/1169437/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1218762] [NEW] iwconfig crashes computer
Public bug reported: Everytime I try to run 'sudo iwconfig' the pc just crashes and hangs with caps lock light flashing, I believe this is a kernel krash. /var/log/syslog contains no traces of the crash. [Bug 1121073] [NEW] Nautilus is not showing [encrypted] units after unmount
Public bug reported: I have an encrypted SD-card connected to my laptops card reader. After boot I start Nautilus and I can see the unit in the unit list, it is not mounted. I click on it to mount it and give the password with option Remind password for session, I then copy some files to it and the press the eject button to the right of it. Nautilus shuts down the active window. Later I want to copy some more files to it, so I start Nautilus again but the unit is not visible this time. I can see the SD-card in Disks but I cannot mount it. I will test upstream kernel when I get a chance, probably tomorrow. [Bug 886605] Re: Desktop, Launcher and menu bar still visible when screen locked
Usually this will happen on my desktop if I leave it on for a long time, I have never seen it on my laptop. I just had it with 14 day uptime and patched with all updates during that time. From what I think something regarding this stops working after having been patched, after a reboot everything is fine again and not reproducible until a few updates have been installed again without rebooting. [Bug 781931] Re: New windows are moved to front but don't take focus
I'd say the Update Manager is the most obvious example of this, happens every time. It pops up when starting an upgrade on top of all other windows but doesn't have focus. It doesn't help to click on one of the windows behind it to bring that one to front, Update Manager still lies on top without focus. To get rid of it you first have to click on it to give it focus and then on one of the other windows to bring Update Manager to back again. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/781931 Title: New windows are moved to front but don't take focus To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/compiz-core/+bug/781931/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 918371] Re: Import bookmarks and settings: No supported browser found
Yep, Chromium 16.0.912.77 (Developer Build 118311 Linux) Ubuntu 11.10 won't see Firefox 10.0, and Firefox can't see Chromium for import either. Strange really. I have tried putting them both as default browser, disabled Master Password in Firefox and trying to do import with FF both started and stopped and restarted them both but it's still the same problem. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/918371 Title: Import bookmarks and settings: No supported browser found To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/chromium-browser/+bug/918371/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 772986] Re: Unity launcher single missing/invisible/blank icon
This is definitely still happening. I just did a fresh install (today) of 11.10, updated all available updates including proposed and I still see the blank/missing icon problem. When I drag it from Dash to launcher it will just create an empty space. Also When I fire the app up from Dash it won't show up in launcher. I'm not sure which apps are affected but it seems to me that it is fresh installs that are affected. After a reboot they work as expected. To reproduce: 1. Install anything with a GUI from Software Center, do not restart 2. Open Dash and drag the icon of the app to the Launcher 3. Icon is missing, only an empty space is visible 4. Remove the empty icon and launch app from Dash, Launcher won't show the running program, neither will it show an empty space. 5. Try again to drag the icon from Dash to launcher, now it won't stick at all, not even an empty icon. 6. Try Alt+Tab to the running app, it wont show up. Expected: Icon should be visible after adding the app to launcher. To fix: A login/logout will usually fix this problem and icon is again visible, sometimes a reboot is needed. Seems to me like something is not triggered after install. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/772986 Title: Unity launcher single missing/invisible/blank icon To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/unity/+bug/772986/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 901147] [NEW] No timeout in gedit when connection is lost
Public bug reported: If connection is lost when editing a document in gedit that is on a remote sftp/ssh server, gedit gets stuck in an endless loop when trying to save the document. It will also fail even if the connection is reestablished To reproduce: 1. Open Nautilus and connect through it to your SFTP/SSH server 2. Open a .txt document with gedit and do some changes 3. Close connection to simulate a lost network situation 4. Reconnect to your SFTP/SSH server 5. Try to save the document in gedit. Gedit will now get stuck in a never ending loop trying to save the document and will need to be killed manually Expected: 5. Gedit will eventually timeout if it can't find the location.
