[Bug 133468] [gutsy] only 3/4 of the screen is displayed properly, Dell Latitude D600
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: compiz Installed Gutsy Tribe 4 on my Dell Latitude D600 laptop. The live CD seemed to be OK, X settings were normal. After the first start the laptop was unusable, because compiz was turned on and rendered only 3/4 of the screen. The gnome panel controls were not visible, so it was unusable. I suspect that the video card (ATI Mobility Radeon 9000) hasn't got enough RAM to paint all of the screen when desktop effects are used. If I reduce the color depth to 16 bit compiz can be enabled (tried that with feisty). So either compiz shouldn't be enabled by default for this laptop or the color depth will have to be reduced. ** Affects: compiz (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- [gutsy] only 3/4 of the screen is displayed properly, Dell Latitude D600 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/133468 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
