[Bug 36413] Re: Drag-drop column ordering

2022-12-30 Thread OzzyFrank
16 years later and *still* no movement on this? Still an issue with
Rhythmbox 3.4.4 in Ubuntu 22.04. I wouldn't even be worried if Genre
*wasn't* stuck between Artist and Album, which was a strange choice. I
did install Alternative Toolbar, and that allowed me to drag and drop in
the order I liked, but it removed the status bar, which is too useful to
be without, as it shows the total duration.

Can confirm this still happens in UM 20.04. And the folder doesn't have
to be particularly large, and often happens when I copy files over to a
portable HDD. The transfer is always successful, but all Caja windows
hang for at least 30 secs.

[Bug 1875441] Re: magnus automatically launched if installed on ubuntu 20.04

2021-11-14 Thread OzzyFrank
I installed ubuntu-mate-desktop last night and can confirm Magnus loads
at startup in KDE, my usual desktop, even though there is no autostart
entry for it. I would look into how to disable that in MATE, but
unfortunately that DE is unusable, as outlined in the forum link below
(in short, the 3 folders I have load in Caja at startup cause a loop of
endlessly loading instances of those folders, whereas in KDE and Gnome I
only get 3 folders):

https://ubuntu-mate.community/t/ubuntu-mate-desktop-loads-hundreds-of-
folders-after-install-keeps-going/24805/9

Since I can't find any mention of "magnus" in gsettings, I think the
easiest way around this is to uninstall this app.

[Bug 1698351] Re: Search in Nautilus Files does not allow sorting of results

2020-11-13 Thread OzzyFrank
Yep, this needs fixing. I upgraded from 16.04 to 20.04 LTS and while
there have been some great improvements, what's changed in, and been
removed from, Nautilus has been a huge disappointment. Search results
are displayed in some crazed, random manner, and cannot be tailored, so
when there are a lot of results, it's basically unusable. Because I use
search so often, and in folders with lots of files, looks like I Have no
choice but to use Nemo until this is resolved.

[Bug 1635803] Re: dragging file with middle mouse button doesn't show "Copy/Move/Link" context menu

2020-11-02 Thread OzzyFrank
Upgraded from Ubuntu 16.04 to 20.04 with Nautilus/"Files" 3.36.3-stable
and there is no middle-click drag context menu. I see this has been an
issue for a while now, so I'm hoping this isn't *yet another* useful
feature Nautilus/Gnome developers have taken out for reasons most of us
can't fathom, but people are still looking at this as a bug, so I'm just
confirming it is still an issue in 20.04.1 LTS.

[Bug 1767431] Re: restore type-ahead find, again

2020-11-01 Thread OzzyFrank
Hi. I finally upgraded to 18.04 and Nautilus without type-ahead find is
extremely limiting when it comes to file/folder navigation. I can't even
fathom why it would be dropped. But if search is now the default action
for when one starts typing, there should be a way to disable that, or
enable type-ahead find, if not in an easily-found, user-friendly way,
then at least as an option in Preferences. I know there is a patched
version available, but I'd rather not have upgrade headaches which can
arise from having patched versions of major system apps, so am just
adding my voice to the countless others on the web begging for action on
this.

[Bug 887821] Re: "Show copy dialog" right click launcher entry doesn't work (on nautilus copy)

2016-10-31 Thread OzzyFrank
Happens to me on a fresh install of 16.04.1. The progress dialogue was
there until I hit Show Desktop - no keyboard shortcuts bring it back -
right-click launcher in Unity panel and "Show Copy Dialogue" does
absolutely nothing - I do not have an arrow-in-folder app-indicator on
the top panel - nothing listed here or and web pages I've looked at. The
only way I know it is still copying is that in the Unity launcher there
is a small progress-bar across it, and if I bring up Properties for the
target folder I can briefly see the number of files increase.

I really hoped this would have been fixed by now - this problem has
plagued my brother since 12.04, and is one of the main reasons I ended
up going KDE. But I figured I'd give Unity another shot on my new PC
with a fresh install, and I'd really like to stick with it (but having
no visible file operation progress basically kills it for me).

[Bug 1266964] [NEW] Rhythmbox 3.0 Can't Edit Recently Added Playlist (No Context Menu)

2014-01-07 Thread OzzyFrank
Public bug reported:

Hi. In Ubuntu 13.10 I upgraded RB to version 3.0 via the fossfreedom
PPA. Previously, when I right-clicked the "Recently Added" auto-
playlist, a context menu would appear, from which I could choose "Edit",
with which I could then adjust the time period that the playlist
monitored for new music. Now I can't do that, as no context menu appears
at all when right-clicking the playlist. Actually there is no context
menu for clicking any playlist, and even when hiding all the playlists
and right-clicking the blank area beneath the "Playlists" heading (which
before would give me options like creating a new playlist). I've looked
for ways around this, but no go, so assume it's a bug I needed to
report. Cheers.

[Bug 1164016] Re: restore type-ahead find

2013-12-14 Thread OzzyFrank
The removal of type-ahead find has been driving me nuts since its
implementation, so I cast my vote that users be given the option to turn
off automatic searching. It staggers me that rather than give us more
options to customise our file manager to be as we like it, they're
slowly being stripped away. And I have to say, I've been using Ubuntu
since 2006, and I'm still waiting for a tool that lets me configure
Nautilus without wading through gconf/dconf (though that would likely be
next to useless with all the backwards steps Nautilus is taking with
every release).

[Bug 1240336] Re: Not authorized to perform operation / Unable to determine the session we are in: No session for pid

2013-11-24 Thread OzzyFrank
Hi again. Solution #23 in comment #33 worked for me, so many thanks! For
those who want to try it, here are the steps:

gksu gedit /etc/pam.d/lightdm

Under the first line "#%PAM-1.0" paste the following:

session required pam_loginuid.so
session required pam_systemd.so

... then log out and back in again. If need be, run "dpkg-reconfigure
gdm" and select "lightdm" (that was already selected in my case, so I
don't know if OKing it actually made any difference). You shouldn't need
to reboot, but do so if a simple logout doesn't do the trick.

it is related, but in case it is, it seems Shutdown no longer works, and

[Bug 1059726] Re: Mounting drives that have '\040' in the name in fstab throws up an error during boot.

2013-05-08 Thread OzzyFrank
*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 1059471 ***
https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1059471

Pascal - the graphics card info is as follows:

01:00.0 VGA compatible controller [0300]: NVIDIA Corporation G84
[GeForce 8600 GT] [10de:0402] (rev a1) (prog-if 00 [VGA controller])

Forgive my lack of expertise in these matters, but I have no idea about
blacklisting video cards, like why I would even need to do that
(actually, to a novice like me it kind of sounds dangerous, hehe).
Looking at the blacklist examples in /boot/grub/gfxblacklist.txt, I
can't even see what part of the above info I'd have to put in. I assume
this has something to do with why my boot utterly fails when it can't
mount /media/Windows\040XP, rather than give me the option to skip and
just resume boot. Once again, forgive my ignorance about why a mount
failure and video card issue could be related.

Anyway, all I can say is that while playing with the values in fstab and
using mount -a to see if any changes work, everything I do still ends
with the error: [mntent]: line 1 in /etc/fstab is bad

Whether I use spaces, \040 instead of spaces, and quotes around the path
of both of those or not, there is still no way for me to mount those
with spaces. I know the short answer is just to change the mount points
to those with no spaces, but the reason I have not done that is that I
have so many links and bookmarks etc pointing to "Windows XP" - not to
mention in a VirtualBox WinXP appliance where so much is tied to the
physical WinXP partition - it would cause me too much hassle to change
the mount point to "Windows_XP" (Ubuntu's automount recognises the
partition's label of "Windows XP", and while I have to manually mount
that, all my links/bookmarks then work, and I just have to remember to
do that before loading my WinXP virtual machine, otherwise it too spits
the dummy and fails to load).

PS: my mountall version is now 2.42ubuntu0.4, but still no luck.

[Bug 1059726] Re: Mounting drives that have '\040' in the name in fstab throws up an error during boot.

2012-10-26 Thread OzzyFrank
Hi. I can confirm pretty much the same thing, being that my Windows XP
partition could not be mounted on rebooting after the 12.10 upgrade, and
it totally halted the system (I was given no "Press S to skip" option -
the only keys that would do anything was Esc [toggle between showing
Plymouth and verbose mode] and Ctrl+Alt+Del [reboot]).

Nothing is wrong with that NTFS partition, but the mount point does
contain a space (/media/Windows XP), so it may be the "\040" issue. I
booted with another drive and edited fstab (I simply commented out the
whole line, as I had no idea if it was an issue with it mounting NTSF
volumes or what not), and the system started fine (and the NTFS
partition, being on the same drive as Ubuntu, was automatically mounted
anyway).

Once upon an upgrade, I had to actually edit fstab and replace the
spaces with "\040" in order to get affected volumes to be mounted again
- now it seems that's the very cause of this issue. While I obviously
got past this, this issue would surely stump those with less experience,
especially as many would have no idea how to boot with a Live CD or
other Ubuntu drive and successfully edit fstab (keeping in mind Ubuntu
won't automatically mount another Ubuntu/Linux system partition, so
you'd have to know how to do this manually, then edit fstab as root).

Also, it doesn't help that among the error messages it mentions nothing
of spaces in the mount point, but states:

"The volume may already be mounted, or another software may use it..."
"mountall: File system could not be mounted /media/Windows XP"

[Bug 986990] Re: Totem full screen is not so full in ubuntu 12.04

2012-05-28 Thread OzzyFrank
Hi. I can confirm that after upgrading to Ubuntu 12.04, using Gnome 3
Classic/Fallback, that while I've gotten Compiz back with this version,
many programs that attempt to go fullscreen don't quite get there. For
example, with EOG (Eye Of Gnome Image Viewer), the image will fill the
screen until I hit the arrow key to go to the next image, where upon
"fullscreen" becomes the area between the top and bottom Gnome panels
(often, if I wait a few seconds, I don't even have to move on to the
next image - it will just resize itself). I actually filed a bug report
for EOG, but since then have observed this with Totem, SMPlayer, and a
few others. I just tried it with Firefox, but it seems fine. I can
confirm this does not happen when I switch back to Metacity. I've tried
disabling a few Compiz plugins/features to try and isolate which one is
causing this, to no avail.

[Bug 808512] Re: No way to configure screensaver in Oneiric

2011-10-22 Thread OzzyFrank
Not being able to choose a screensaver is something I've never come
across in my 18 years on the PC, hehe. I thought the settings were just
hidden on upgrade to Ubuntu 11.10, but after extensive Googling, I've
only seen out of date info on using gnome-screensaver-preferences (which
no longer seems to exist, or should I say doesn't exist yet for Gnome
3). Seen some complicated guides on how to migrate xscreensaver files,
but that won't help me pick any in the new default screensaver.
Hopefully this lack of foresight will be rectified soon.

[Bug 739300] Re: Alt+Tab doesn't work when Dash is open

2011-06-24 Thread OzzyFrank
OK, seems a Compiz setting was disabled by default, and enabling it gave
me back Alt+Tab; however, something is preventing me setting the other
familiar shortcut, Alt+Esc. Here is as much info as possible, including
the fact that 2 settings seem to be identical, even though they should
behave differently:

Go to CompizConfig Settings Manager > Window Management, and enable
Static Application Switcher; if that doesn't work, click on that plugin,
and set the desired "binding" to Alt+Tab in the Bindings tab. It should
work once you've enabled that plugin, though, but if you click on it to
see its settings, don't be surprised that the keyboard shortcut for
"Next window" is Tab, even though it is actually "Next window (All
windows)" (which is probably set to Tab) which pops up the
window list. Setting "Next window" to Escape will not automatically
move you between open windows, as you'd expect, but seems to do nothing;
yet, if you set it back to Tab, it will once again show you all
open windows (as will Tab).

So I got Alt+Tab back, but I actually use Alt+Esc more, so wouldn't mind
getting that fixed now! Cheers

[Bug 739300] Re: Alt+Tab doesn't work when Dash is open

2011-06-23 Thread OzzyFrank
Alt+Tab unfortunately does nothing for me in Unity (same with Alt+Esc).
I've desperately searched for a task selector indicator or something,
but currently the only way to switch between (maximised) tasks is using
the Dash menu.

[Bug 676793] Re: Need to Double-Click ISO Images TWICE Before Brasero Opens to Burn to Disc

2011-06-22 Thread OzzyFrank
Hi. Sorry, but there hasn't been anything to report, except that it has
persisted after my upgrade to 11.04. What's more, I currently have my
brother's PC here, and after upgrading from 9.10 through to 11.04, I can
tell you now his system does exactly the same! And I can verify it
wasn't doing this before, not just because he never reported such
behaviour, but because I had burned Ubuntu Alternate discs for the
upgrades from there myself. Now it's like my system: more often than
not, it will fail to open the burning dialogue, even though in the
taskbar I am told it is opening said app. One last thing I can report is
that it has taken as many as 4 double-clicks to get it going, each time
a status button appearing telling me it will open. And in case you're
wondering, right-clicking and choosing the option manually from the
context menu is no better. Still quite annoying!

[Bug 783926] Re: Drag-Drop works only on --replace (ubuntu-classic session)

2011-05-20 Thread OzzyFrank
Yes, I have the same problem here, being if I want to drag and drop
items from one folder to another that isn't visible, by holding it over
the corresponding taskbar button till the folder appears, all I get is
the + sign, and if I let go, a launcher to the file or folder is
created. This is using the Classic desktop in 11.04, and is the same
with Thunar. Thanks for the compiz --replace tip, as that rectified it
(I assume until the next reboot).

[Bug 676793] [NEW] Need to Double-Click ISO Images TWICE Before Brasero Opens to Burn to Disc

2010-11-17 Thread OzzyFrank
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: brasero

Ubuntu 10.10 using Brasero 2.32.0-0ubuntu2

Before upgrade to 10.10, ISO images only needed to be double-clicked
once for Brasero's "Burn to Disc" to appear.

After upgrade to 10.10, double-clicking an ISO image results in the
cursor showing "busy", and in the taskbar a button appears saying it is
"Opening...", but after quite a few seconds of this, nothing appears
after the taskbar button vanishes. Double-clicking the ISO a second time
finally achieves the desired outcome.

Additional info: The only other thing I can think of to mention, though
I doubt it has anything to do with this, is that after the upgrade
Brasero kept (apparently) creating image checksums (though I couldn't
find any evidence it was doing more than wasting time). I went into Edit
> Plugins and disabled both the File Checksums and Image Checksums
plugins. I'm not actually sure if the behaviour above was from the start
(after the upgrade) or after disabling the plugins (since I only burned
an image or two before looking for how to disable the annoying checksum
creation).

It's not a "bug", but a rather silly design flaw. Saw at least one

[Bug 490205] Re: Empty Disc Recognised, but still Asks for Empty DVD upon Burn

2010-02-02 Thread OzzyFrank
I had to install a new disc drive as the previous one started having
read errors (was burning absolutely fine, but would come up with non-
existent errors when doing an md5 check), and finally K3b's Burn
dialogue could recognise I had inserted a blank disc. Not sure if this
was actually because of KDE updates or the upgrade for Ubuntu I did just
before this, especially since this error started before the drive
started being less than perfect.

[Bug 490205] Re: Empty Disc Recognised, but still Asks for Empty DVD upon Burn

2009-12-04 Thread OzzyFrank
Unfortunately, "AUTO" is now the only option in the dropdown menu of
choices. It wasn't like that before - I know, because I seldom use
"AUTO", since it isn't always "DAO" (which is what I generally want).
And my problem isn't with the burning modes (though I'll try anything,
if it can help), but the fact that the Burn dialogue can't see the empty
disc, even though the main window of K3b can.

And I'm not trying to burn an .iso to disc, but files to video disc. If
you mean the other way round, I don't doubt I can burn the video DVD
project to an .iso, but I'd rather get this sorted and save half the
work (ie: burn straight to disc).

[Bug 490205] Re: Empty Disc Recognised, but still Asks for Empty DVD upon Burn

2009-11-30 Thread OzzyFrank
Hi. Just rebooted, and nothing has changed; the main window shows the
disc present as soon as the system has mounted it, but the Burn dialogue
still says "Please insert an emply DVD-DL medium". I think this may have
been the first time I've used K3b since I upgraded Ubuntu to 9.10; I
have KDE and Xfce installed along with Gnome, so a lot of KDE apps were
replaced with Karmic versions in the upgrade.

I've used K3b without issue for ages now (well, besides that 4Gb limit
issue many others had too), and have recommended this over Gnome apps
due to the reliable Video DVD burning (ie: they're actually playable).
Hopefully this gets resolved soon, as even though I have NeroLinux, I
much prefer K3b.

Although I haven't tried it, I'm assuming if I wanted to create an .iso
image of the video DVD project, it would let me (since the Start button
is not disabled like the Burn one is). Seems purely to be that the
dialogue cannot see the disc, even though the main body of the program
can. Weird.

2009-11-29 Thread OzzyFrank
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: k3b

Ubuntu 9.10 "amd64" running K3b 1.68.0~alpha3-0ubuntu1

I have used this program countless times to make playable video DVDs,
but this time the Burn button was disabled in the final dialogue box. In
the folder pane, it shows that I have an empty DVD in there, and in the
status bar shows me I have 3Mb of space left on it. I can use the Burn
button to bring up the dialogue, but it shows that I need to insert a
blank medium, even though it already knows I have one in there. I cannot
do anything but hit Cancel, since the Burn button is disabled because
apparently there is no disc in the drive.

I've restarted the program a few times, to no avail. I'll see if a
reboot does anything. Cheers

[Bug 116650] Re: Imation Disc Stakka C10AI goes wild when connected to PC

2008-12-25 Thread OzzyFrank
Hi. Just confirming that in Intrepid the Disc Stakka still just cycles
through the discs endlessly. I've tried a few of the "fixes" in forums
to at least stop the carousel from rotating the whole time, to no avail
(and this is over the last few versions of Ubuntu). I know it is asking
a bit to actually have support in Ubuntu for this unit, but a way to
disconnect/disable it would at least mean people wouldn't have to
physically disconnect the USB cable each time they boot into Ubuntu to
stop this annoying behaviour. None of the ways of stopping Ubuntu from
seeing it as an attached USB device have worked for me.

[Bug 306128] Re: easymp3gain: Cannot access Vorbisgain, even though it is installed and works.

2008-12-12 Thread OzzyFrank
$ cat ~/.easyMP3Gain | grep "Vorbis"

VorbisGainBackend=vorbisgain

Version is 0.36-3ubuntu1 (intrepid). Version of easyMP3gain is
0.4.2.-beta, and I believe I got it from there, as it wasn't available
in the repositories (if I recall correctly). Vorbisgain I am pretty sure
I just got via Synaptic.

And yes, vorbisgain seems to run fine from a terminal. And no, adding
the path to the command in Options just gives the same error, but with
the path included (ie: "Error: Cannot start /usr/bin/vorbisgain.
Install...").

Should also mention this happened on my friend's PC first, as I was
trying to show him how to edit his .ogg collection. I have .mp3s, so
hadn't encountered this of course, but when I then tried on my PC, I
couldn't edit .ogg/.oga files either (with the mp3gain UI that is).

[Bug 306128] [NEW] easymp3gain: Cannot access Vorbisgain, even though it is installed and works.

2008-12-07 Thread OzzyFrank
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: mp3gain

Program: easymp3gain 0.4.2 beta

OK, I am thinking this is an Ubuntu-specific bug, as I have seen other
Ubuntu users with the same problem, while others out there on other
distros are using easymp3gain to adjust the volume of ogg/oga files just
fine. When I try to adjust an ogg or oga file, it comes up with:

"Error: Cannot start vorbisgain. Install..."

... and that's all I can see in the status bar, but I am assuming it is
telling me to install vorbisgain, which is in fact installed, and can be
accessed via terminal no problems whatsoever.

If anyone knows a fix or workaround, please let me know, as this is a
really handy little program.

[Bug 305915] [NEW] d4x can't handle certain (numeric) urls (does not add them to list/queue)

2008-12-06 Thread OzzyFrank
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: d4x

Hi. I don't think this is a dupe of
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/d4x/+bug/268913 ("d4x cannot
handle urls that contain ~ and some other characters allowed by HTTP")
with fix instructions
http://launchpadlibrarian.net/17531907/locstr.cc.diff I am not sure how
to implement anyway. My problem is that all of a sudden it wasn't adding
urls at all, but admittedly it was from one site and the urls are
numeric like http://174.36.1.2/progex.7z. I tried a "normal" download
link with words instead of numbers and it was added fine. But I just
came across another bug while copying the url that I just pasted - up
popped the box to add a download as usual, so I thought I'd OK it to see
if it was successfully added after adding the download via a "normal"
url, and now the queue is empty again!

Another thing I should report is that at the top of the left pane under
"Main" the number of downloads keeps increasing with each one I add, but
will be reset to zero on the next program restart. I can confirm it
isn't like I just can't see them as most of the options in the Download
menu are inactive (just like if the list was empty).

And as I said, now trying to add one of those urls results in the whole
list being wiped. I hadn't actually started the download I added
successfully before it was wiped, and this may have made a difference,
as when this started I still had one unfinished download and it wasn't
wiped but finished successfully. I can also report that restarting the
program finds the list empty of those added successfully after trying to
add ones like http://174.36.1.2/progex.7z the previous time. That's
about it I think.

If the fix mentioned at the top is the answer (or needs to be edited to
include numerical values) any help would be appreciated.

[Bug 155368] Re: Downloader for X adds /'s to the link making it fail

2008-12-06 Thread OzzyFrank
Eek! Now it's just not adding downloads to the list/queue! Funny thing
is at the top of the small left hand pane titled "Main" the number goes
up from zero each time I add one, but nothing shows up. The number also
increases if I keep adding the same one, and since there is nothing
actually in the list, after a restart it's back to zero. Didn't have any
problems with the last download, but adding them is now impossible. I
will look around for a similar bug report.

[Bug 155368] Re: Downloader for X adds /'s to the link making it fail

2008-12-03 Thread OzzyFrank
Yes, I've had the same problem with / in addresses, and had no
answer to emails, and the site is down, so looks like d4x is a lost
cause (for future releases/development). I rather liked it but am now
back to Kget (which is buggy now that is a KDE4 app, but at least it
works!). Wouldn't be so bad if you could SUCCESSFULLY edit the urls
manually, but there is ALWAYS at least one extra / which makes the link
useless. For me, uninstalling and reinstalling did nothing but waste my
time (I see one or two of you had success with that).

However, now that I have uninstalled it and reinstalled it via the
packages above, all seems fine (a download actually starting is a sure
sign, hehe!). Thanks for the guys who did the job of the developer and
fixed this (there are some real clever little buggers out there, aren't
there?!) and for making the 64-bit version.

I don't so much care if this app never has another new release, as long
as this one keeps working, hehe. But that said, I do second the motion
to get another similar app developed, and one whose author(s) can be
contacted!

But that said, I do second the motion
to get another similar app developed, and one whose author(s) can be
contacted!

[Bug 301324] [NEW] 8.10 has Killed my CD Printing on Canon MP800

2008-11-23 Thread OzzyFrank
*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 301321 ***
https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/301321

Public bug reported:

The Intrepid upgrade wanted to replace my cupsd.conf and I let it
(though backed it up first). However, printing is out of whack now, even
with the TurboPrint driver for the Canon Pixma MP800 (which isn't that
well supported under Ubuntu). I've only tried CD printing (with tried-
and-tested PDFs I had created when gLabels started refusing to print
before 8.10), and have played around with settings, copied over the old
cupsd.conf and rebooted, reinstalled TurboPrint, but printing CDs
results in it printing about 1cm or so too high up, so the top is cut
off... that's if I print from Evince... if I use Okular (which is based
on the now defunct KPDF, which worked best for me before 8.10) it prints
part of it on the right side, and a tiny bit of it at the top (quite
messed up!). If I use the generic (non-TurboPrint) driver, it lines up
the disc but prints nothing. I really wouldn't mind being able to print
again in Ubuntu, hehe.

 Importance: Undecided
 Status: New

[Bug 278121] Re: [Intrepid] Upgrade to intrepid presents user with CUPS config file diff

2008-11-22 Thread OzzyFrank
Yes... I thought letting it update as recommended would be fine, but is
screwed up my disc printing. THANKS!!! Luckily I backed up cupsd.conf,
so will see if it's better after a reboot. But the 2 files look alien to
each other, like done in different encoding or whatever.

[Bug 154528] Re: [gutsy] ati driver not working in gutsy

2007-10-22 Thread OzzyFrank
My problem with the generic ati driver after upgrading to Gutsy is the
screen going absolutely haywire from login onwards. So I can't see a
thing, or should I say I can see plenty but of course can't make sense
of a display rapidly moving in diagonal lines. I have had to revert to
the old vesa driver too (and yeah, I have the same card and have never
been able to get anything but a basic driver to work, but at least ati
used to work!). Here are some links to posts by me and others with ATI
vs Gutsy woes:
