[Bug 937572] Re: printing troubleshooter error

2012-04-08 Thread PETER C
Update

This is the error I get when trying to print to the printer (it is
loaded on my printers but does not work)...

CUPS SERVER ERROR
There was an error during the CUPS operation:
'client-error-document-format-not-supported'.

This is the latest Canon printed so I am sure there will be out there
with the same problem.

Any help appreciated...

[Bug 221746] Re: Assigning storage space fails if acceleration enabled

2008-05-01 Thread Peter C. Norton
mshu, it will fail when selecting OS type == unix and subtype ==
solaris10, and probably others, too. That's just what I ran into.

I'm using the package from -proposed, and it also fixes the problem for
me.

Thanks,

-Peter

Yep, it's bit a lot of people already. There's a ubuntuforums sticky
note on this with a number of suggestions for fixing it that work
(essentially replace new libc with old libc):

[Bug 197368] [NEW] sound subsystem fails after setting to usb headset

2008-03-01 Thread Peter C. Norton
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: linux-source-2.6.24

Trying to use a logitech headset M/N 03556A, I opened
preferences-sound, and set all inputs and outputs to usb-audio, and
tested all successfully.

Audio from applications ceased to work. Re-booted, and plugged headset
into a different port (was using a potentially flaky usb hub now
plugging directly into usb port on motherboard).

At this point, trying to open up the sound control panel is failing,
even with the usb headset unplugged. Stracing gnome-sound-properties
results in this:

[Bug 195487] [NEW] Cannot create virtualized x64 vm with virtual machine manager +

4) What I expect to happen:
I expect a virtual machine creation to complete. This completes when I disable
kernel/hardware acceleration

5) What happens:

I have attached a screenshot of the failed creation, though the text is
truncated (the window is not re-sizeable). I'm appending the text here:

Unable to complete install 'class 'libvirt.libvirtError'

My question: is this expected (eg. non-para-virtualized VMs shouldn't
need this option)? Otherwise, how can this be fixed?

Thanks,

-Peter
