[Bug 163141] Re: Touchpad recognized as generic mouse on Thinkpad R61 laptop

2009-04-01 Thread Pablo López Martín
Same problem here on a Toshiba Satellite Pro M10 laptop with ALPS
Touchpad. It gets detected as PS/2 Generic Mouse so all solutions
involving tweaking the xorg.conf to get advanced features like scrolling
to work don't help at all. Is this going to be fixed anytime soon? Is
this a kernel problem? Do I need to change the kernel?

Thanks,

~ Pablo

[Bug 151977] Re: Touchpad not detected

2009-04-01 Thread Pablo López Martín
Hi Satya,

tpconfig does detect my touchpad, but all the kernel detects is a PS/2
Generic Mouse. I've seen many bugs related to this one but still no fix.
The funny thing, is that this same laptop worked with whatever kernel
release i was using 4 years ago.

Attached the output of dmesg | grep input

[Bug 330885] Re: ALPS touchpad not recognized in Dell Latitude E6400 - reopened ?

2009-04-01 Thread Pablo López Martín
I confirm this bug for Toshiba Satellite Pro M10. In similar bugs, they
suggest to add i8042.nomux=1 in the kernel boot options. For example, in
grub, in /boot/grub/menu.lst:

kernel /boot/vmlinuz-2.6.20-15-generic root=UUID=aee7eebe-02ba-428a-
b90b-afa9aed6dbcd ro quiet i8042.nomux=1

This doesn't fix it for me though.
