[Bug 1070688] [NEW] smb4k - unable to find suitable address

2012-10-23 Thread Pak
Public bug reported:

Hi all
After the upgrade to Quantal (12.10) smb4k stop works well.
I can mount Windows shares, but I cannot mount samba (linux) shares that worked
well with smb4k on 12.04

Everything works right using "mount -t cifs ..." and adding entry in
/etc/fstab so for the moment those are my turnaround

When I try to mount linux samba share, I got the popup message
Unable to find suitable address
(I can ping the name of the samba server)

and in /var/log/syslog
Oct 24 08:22:36 PcUno dbus[1063]: [system] Activating service
name='de.berlios.smb4k.mounthelper' (using servicehelper)
Oct 24 08:22:36 PcUno de.berlios.smb4k.mounthelper: QDBusConnection: system
D-Bus connection created before QCoreApplication. Application may misbehave.
Oct 24 08:22:36 PcUno dbus[1063]: [system] Successfully activated service
'de.berlios.smb4k.mounthelper'
Oct 24 08:22:37 PcUno kernel: [ 4253.867545] CIFS VFS: Error connecting to
socket. Aborting operation
Oct 24 08:22:37 PcUno kernel: [ 4253.867617] CIFS VFS: cifs_mount failed
w/return code = -111

I had fixed in 12.04 adding those lines to /etc/sudoers
# Entries for Smb4K users.
# Generated by Smb4K. Please do not modify!
User_Alias SMB4KUSERS = systema
Defaults:SMB4KUSERS env_keep += "PASSWD USER"
SMB4KUSERS PcUno = NOPASSWD: /usr/bin/smb4k_kill
SMB4KUSERS PcUno = NOPASSWD: /usr/bin/smb4k_umount
SMB4KUSERS PcUno = NOPASSWD: /usr/bin/smb4k_mount
# End of Smb4K user entries.

This fix won't work on 12.10, because the binary smb4k_kill,
smb4k_umount and smb4k_mount will not exists anymore

I try to use this instead
SMB4KUSERS PcUno = NOPASSWD: /usr/bin/smb4k
but it doesn't works

Any hint?
Thankyou

Paolo

[Bug 160421] Re: Konsole bookmarking fails

2009-06-26 Thread Pak
In konsole It's possible to bookmark ssh session too (not only local
file)

if you do "bookmark - add new" (or something similar.. my kubuntu is in
italian), you can assign a "name" and a "position" to the bookmark
you're going to create.

The "Name" field is a simple descriptor, and the "Position" field can a local
or remote file system
I wrote in "position" field "ssh://r...@remote_host_ip". That permit to me to
connect to remote host without remember the remote ip (which is bookmarked).

The issue happen when I try to specify a different port for the
connection. For example when I try to bookmark somethin like
"ssh://r...@remote_host_ip:222" for a IpCop console connection.

I can bookmark remote session if I don't specify the remote port
In few words:
ssh://r...@remote_host_ip WORKS
ssh remote_host_ip -l root WORKS
ssh://r...@remote_host_ip:remote_port DOESN'T WORKS
ssh remote_host_ip -l root -p remote_port DOESN'T WORKS

Hope this help :)

I can tell you also I try to delete the
/home/pak/.kde/share/apps/konsole/bookmark.xml file, to let the konsole program
create a new one, and I try to modify the xml file editing it... but with no
success

bye

[Bug 160421] Re: Konsole bookmarking fails

2009-01-29 Thread Pak
Hi to all

I have similar behaviour too..

Now I have KDE 4.2 (kubuntu 8.10) but kbookmarksmanager doesn't work properly
since KDE4.0
when I try to save new bookmarks often they disappear when I try to change
something

for example
I have
ssh://u...@ip_host

I need to change port for connect
ssh://u...@ip_host:port
ssh ip_host -l user -p port
doesn't work

In KDE3.5 they did works

Doesn't work too to create a new bookmark (not modify existing)
I have a lot of IpCop and other console listening on "not ordinary port" for my
ssh connection, for various reason, and I can't remember it all

If you need more info, let me know :)

hope to help

Paolo

[Bug 140028] Re: Right click makes the menu appear and disappear in an istant

2007-10-25 Thread Simon Pak
I just wanted to add that I can confirm this happens with Glossy, Clearlooks
and Mist themes (but not the others) on totem-gstreamer.
Also, I'm not sure if I should file a separate bug report, but left clicking on
the playlist/properties drop down menu appears to have the same problem
regardless of video playing or theme.
I have Desktop Effects off and am running an Nvidia Geforce 3 with the
restricted drivers on a VIA KT333 chipset.

[Bug 53504] Re: Yelp fails to launch - could not initialize gecko!

2006-07-25 Thread Pak Cheong Boey
I finally found a solution to the problem. By renaming
/usr/lib/firefox/components/compreg.dat yelp is working now. I don't
understand why. Perhaps someone who knows could enlighten us.

[Bug 53504] Yelp fails to launch - could not initialize gecko!

2006-07-20 Thread Pak Cheong Boey
Public bug reported:

I upgraded Breezy to Dapper on my Samsung laptop. Everything works
except for the gnome help. Clicking on any help icon fails to launch
gnome help. Entering yelp on command line gives message "Could not
initialize gecko!"

Any help on what I could do to get yelp working.

output of strace yelp 2&> tmp/yelp
