[Bug 1879007] Re: Xorg freeze
System froze again. This time it wasn't even charging. I was watching Netflix and had paused the vid and saw after 2-3 mins. The system had frozen. [Bug 1879007] Re: Xorg freeze
Thanks for the reply 1. This was the url for the above crash https://errors.ubuntu.com/user/d7d96d6c941797d3e0f3b54272be35b390d7ac865833de8d558816c4391a51dd1a8de938ab5d04a67226be831c4784a4de8fd2f4412e2baa5d75af4e2c606380 But the dates shown do not match with the time when my system froze. I'm guessing this was something else before 2. Output of file is attached(both the processes 2024,2069 having highest fd size belong to chrome processes) 3. That was just one instance when popcorntime was running. Before that a lot of times when my system froze, I wasn't using that app.(crash generally happens when the system is plugged into power) ** Attachment added: "FDSize.txt" https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xorg-server/+bug/1879007/+attachment/5373348/+files/FDSize.txt -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1879007 Title: Xorg freeze To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xorg-server/+bug/1879007/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1879007] [NEW] Xorg freeze
Public bug reported: When I first did a clean install of Ubuntu 20.04. The system got frequently frozen at random times 4-5 times a day and mostly every time when it was on charging and I tried to boot. I was using the nouveau display driver instead of the Nvidia driver. I did a clean install again and the same thing happened. I upgraded to Nvidia drivers with Intel GPU PRIME profile (earlier I hadn't performed key management so I guess they were not being used properly, but this time I did). The system didn't freeze for 2 days. This time too it was plugged into power and I was watching a video when it just froze. Mouse and keyboard became irresponsive(like before). I couldn't perform any magic sysreq so I had to force reboot by pressing the power key. It has been happening every 2-3 days since that. My kdump crash logs are empty. Everytime the system froze the system has been plugged into power(or I couldn't recall if the system froze otherwise). It gets very irritating. Please help.
