[Bug 700574] [NEW] wl module (5.100.82.38) fails to compile on 2.6.37-12
Public bug reported: WL module fails to compile, apparently new kernel (2.6.37) no longer has init_MUTEX -function. Network stops working once one puts computer into hibernation, suspend or reboots. Workaround is to replace init_MUTEX(wl-sem); with sema_init(wl-sem, 1);, then depmod and modprobe wl. make.log: make: Entering directory `/usr/src/linux-headers-2.6.37-12-generic' LD /var/lib/dkms/bcmwl/5.100.82.38+bdcom/build/built-in.o CC [M] /var/lib/dkms/bcmwl/5.100.82.38+bdcom/build/src/shared/linux_osl.o CC [M] /var/lib/dkms/bcmwl/5.100.82.38+bdcom/build/src/wl/sys/wl_linux.o /var/lib/dkms/bcmwl/5.100.82.38+bdcom/build/src/wl/sys/wl_linux.c: In function ‘wl_attach’: /var/lib/dkms/bcmwl/5.100.82.38+bdcom/build/src/wl/sys/wl_linux.c:487:3: error: implicit declaration of function ‘init_MUTEX’ make[1]: *** [/var/lib/dkms/bcmwl/5.100.82.38+bdcom/build/src/wl/sys/wl_linux.o] Error 1 make: *** [_module_/var/lib/dkms/bcmwl/5.100.82.38+bdcom/build] Error 2 make: Leaving directory `/usr/src/linux-headers-2.6.37-12-generic' ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 11.04 Package: bcmwl-kernel-source 5.100.82.38+bdcom-0ubuntu1 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 2.6.37-12.26-generic 2.6.37 Uname: Linux 2.6.37-12-generic i686 NonfreeKernelModules: wl Architecture: i386 Date: Sun Jan 9 09:16:49 2011 ProcEnviron: LC_TIME=fi_FI.utf8 LANGUAGE=en_US.UTF-8:en LANG=en_US.utf8 LC_MESSAGES=en_US.utf8 SHELL=/bin/bash SourcePackage: bcmwl ** Affects: bcmwl (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: apport-bug i386 natty -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/700574 Title: wl module (5.100.82.38) fails to compile on 2.6.37-12 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 690755] Re: poor graphics performance with nvidia-current in maverick
I also failed to get VDPAU acceleration on 10.10. The fix was to create a link to /usr/lib/nvidia-current/vdpau/libvdpau_nvidia.so in /usr/lib (it already existed in /usr/lib32) like so: sudo ln -s /usr/lib/nvidia-current/vdpau/libvdpau_nvidia.so /usr/lib/libvdpau_nvidia.so After this, both xbmc (Dharma) and mplayer -vo vdpau seemed to use vdpau OK. Prior to fix, the error was: Failed to open VDPAU backend libvdpau_nvidia.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory. [Bug 257045] Re: 0.7 Nokia E71 via USB not detected
This seems to have resurfaced in Lucid. When I connect my E71 (Bus 005 Device 020: ID 0421:00ab Nokia Mobile Phones E71 (PC Suite mode)) or (0421:00aa, mass storage mode). NM will not recognize it. [Bug 118845] Re: DMA not activated on ThinkPad 600E
Workaround: - create file /usr/share/initramfs-tools/scripts/init-top/thepiix with contents of what is attached to this message. - run 'update-initramfs -u' - when booting append to kernel parameter line 'thepiix root=/dev/hda1' now DMA will be enabled automatically by kernel. ** Attachment added: thepiix, initrd script http://launchpadlibrarian.net/7983513/thepiix -- DMA not activated on ThinkPad 600E https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/118845 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 109429] Re: evince does not let me save a copy of file
Upstream says that this is because of document placed restrictions, but there is a gconf key (/apps/evince/override_restrictions) which overrides those. It worked for me. Could this be made on-by-default? I honestly can't think of what kind of ui could make uncopyability clear (apart of popping up a message dialog in answer to 'saveas'). -- evince does not let me save a copy of file https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/109429 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 78348] 'backup' -files are included in initrd

Which update-initramfs apparently included in initrd. (ie. until I removed it 2.6.20-4-generic would not boot, and yes I did run update-initramfs every time).
