Thank you for your help, Gaetan Nadon. My mplayer version is the same one with the medibuntu repository, but I just reported version from "mplayer --version". However, there is no problem if I open media file (mp3..) or media playlist (.asx) directly in Firefox. It seems that my problem's related to adode-flashplugin (I can't download flashplugin-nonfree via my ISP) ,which I got .deb from adobe website, because it happened only when playing media with flash player such as Youtube, AOL music, and of course, live365. I encounter this bug in 8.04.2, too. I use Firefox 3.06, mplayer 1.0rc2-4.2.4, mozilla-mplayer 3.50-1 To cause this problem 1. open any internet radio station using Firefox. 2. Stop playing the internet radio, either close tab or change pages, but DO NOT CLOSE FIREFOX. 3. open Rhythmbox (other players as well), playing a song. There will be no sound from it. And for vice versa, 1. open any audio players, playing song. 2. I have the same problem with my laptop. At first, I think it can't capture any sound at all. After some experiments, I found it actually records but at extremely low volume.
