Meng, I had the same problem - your solution seemed to have solved it, many thanks for posting it. Haven't tried on battery power yet, but I haven't had a single crash since applying the "trick" and running on AC power. I ran into the same problem on my DELL laptop (64-bit Jaunty) after it "froze" last night and I had to force shutdown.
