[Bug 615679] Re: crackling sound during audio playback after upgrading to 10.04
Just wanted to add that I retried proposed solutions 2 and 3 (see comment #9) after removing the updated driver in the PPA without any success. -- crackling sound during audio playback after upgrading to 10.04 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/615679 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 615679] Re: crackling sound during audio playback after upgrading to 10.04
my replies to #9 - still crackling sounds on bootup and on login. 1. After adding the PPA, I installed linux-alsa-driver-modules-2.6.32-24-generic, which matches the kernel I'm using. Sound still crackling. 2. and 3. were both done "on top of" the new driver, without any noticeable difference (sound still crackling) Please let me know if I should retry possible solutions 2. and 3. after removing the updated driver in the PPA and use the stock one. Also, maybe I should have included this in the original description, but sound plays fine in mplayer, for example - even when I try different audio output drivers (oss, alsa, pulse, sdl all work), though I built this mplayer from source myself. -- crackling sound during audio playback after upgrading to 10.04 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/615679 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
