[Bug 1885424] [NEW] Create package for Thor 1.0.1
Public bug reported: Currently, ruby-thor installs Thor 0.19.4 (released Nov 28, 2016). The most recent version is 1.0.1 (released Dec 17, 2019). Related bugs: Debian: https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=955405 Thor package: https://github.com/erikhuda/thor/ Using the 0.19.4 version of Thor causes: TypeError: superclass mismatch for class Command in many situations in a Rails app ...such as when the app includes a newer version of Thor. Most apps will hit this, since both jquery-rails and railties have Thor as a dependency. ** Affects: ruby-thor (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1885424 Title: Create package for Thor 1.0.1 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/ruby-thor/+bug/1885424/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 996916] Re: postgresql packages in the removal blacklist making it hard to upgrade
Also ran into this issue when attempting to upgrade from 19.10 to 20.04. [Bug 1717978] [NEW] When grub install fails, suggest or perform corrective action
Public bug reported: I recently installed Ubuntu Server 17.04. The install took a few tries because grub-install failed without giving details (filed as #1717975). Eventually, I ran grub-install from a shell prompt and got details: grub-install: warning: Attempting to install GRUB to a disk with multiple partition labels. This is not supported yet.. grub-install: error: embedding is not possible, but this is required for RAID and LVM install. The workaround was to wipe the beginning of the disk. Something like this: dd if=/dev/zero of=/dev/sda bs=2047 count=1 It would be very helpful if the installer could fix this sort of problem automatically. Perhaps when rewriting the partition table, it could wipe labels. Perhaps it could dd over, as I did. Perhaps there's an even better solution. ** Affects: debian-installer (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1717978 Title: When grub install fails, suggest or perform corrective action To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/debian-installer/+bug/1717978/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1717975] [NEW] No error details shown when grub-install fails
Public bug reported: I attempted to install Ubuntu 17.04 server. The install stopped because grub-install (i.e. grub-install /dev/sda) failed. Something like this: Unable to install GRUB in /dev/sda Executing `grub-install /dev/sda` failed. This is a fatal error. However, no error details were shown. This made debugging very difficult. Only when I ran grub-install from the shell prompt, I was able to see why: grub-install: warning: Attempting to install GRUB to a disk with multiple partition labels. This is not supported yet.. grub-install: error: embedding is not possible, but this is required for RAID and LVM install. ** Affects: debian-installer (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Summary changed: - No error details show when grub-install fails + No error details shown when grub-install fails -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1717975 Title: No error details shown when grub-install fails To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/debian-installer/+bug/1717975/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1279558] [NEW] Italian (it_IT) locale has empty thousands_sep
Public bug reported: The Italian (it_IT) locale has an empty thousands_sep.
