[Bug 1738515] [NEW] [Precision 5510, Realtek ALC3266, Black Speaker, Internal] No sound at all after plugging in headphones
Public bug reported: Sound worked before, but after plugging in headphones, sound does not work through either headphones or internal speakers. Sound continues not to work after unplugging headphones. I tried: 1. killall pulseaudio; rm -r ~/.config/pulse/* ; rm -r ~/.pulse* 2. wait 10 seconds 3. reboot Then sound worked in internal speakers, but when I plugged in headphones, I got the same result. I tested the sound using "Test Speakers" in Settings, and by playing youtube videos in Firefox. [Bug 900594] Re: Wireless Key On Compaq C57 Displays False Blue Light
Ok, here's how it goes: I dumped 12.04 onto USB and fired it up off of USB. Now, other than the purple screen, the Man, the Wireless Icon and System nothing happened other than asking me if I wanted to install or run off disk. I checked English and ran off disk. The red light was constant when I was not online and the blue light was on when I was online. I cycled this three (03) or (04) times with the same results. I never accessed the Internet, though, as all it did was sync my wireless device, but as I know the name and had to enter the password I presume it is doing what it is supposed to. What I would respectfully request, as I have taken the time to do all this, is an explanation IN LAYMAN'S terms, how to take the piece from 12.04 and put it on my system and make it stay throughout updates. Fair trade off I believe. If y'all need other stuff done let me know. I will be gone from 1630EST - 1930EST +/- and will check back then. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/900594 Title: Wireless Key On Compaq C57 Displays False Blue Light To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/900594/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

So, I don't know how to download and run the specific kernel you want. I am able, though, to create a live CD of 12.04 located here: http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/releases/precise/alpha-1/ I selected the PC (Intel x86) iso and will burn it with Unetbootin. Please advise if this is ok. I simply am not a programmer and most of this is greek to me; I don't mind helping I just don't know how to do what you want.

[Bug 438488] Re: USB Devices only recognised on startup
I am surprised to read that there is only one report about this bug. I have loaded Ubuntu 9.10 on to a refurbished IBM ThinkCentre. I have the same problem as does other people trying to load Ubuntu 9.10 on this product. I Googled the problem. I found that a single devise (memory stick) attached to a USB port would work after i invoked lsusb from a terminal window. This info came from other people with the problem. However when I attached my HP Deskjet 6940 it worked fine but nothing else worked when I tried the memory stick. A complete restart would not start more than two devises attached to USB ports. During the restart I saw what appeared to be error messages before the login screen. Could not read then all. I think that there was an error #17 Hope that this will help.
