Public bug reported: The screen settings are not fitting in the second panel in Lubuntu 16.04. My laptop display is distorted due to some damage, So I use an external display to use the laptop. I solved it by guessing that the panel is actually below the visible part of the window, so I clicked on the bottom-left and the menu popped up, and I set the monitor to use the external panel only. And it worked. lspci -nnk | grep -A 2 VGA 00:02.0 VGA compatible controller [0300]: Intel Corporation Mobile GM965/GL960 Integrated Graphics Controller (primary) [8086:2a02] (rev 03) Subsystem: Hewlett-Packard Company Presario C700 [103c:30d9] Kernel driver in use: i915 # xrandr Screen 0: minimum 8 x 8, current 1366 x 768, maximum 32767 x 32767 LVDS1 connected (normal left inverted right x axis y axis) 1280x800 59.91 + 1024x768 60.00 800x600 60.3256.25 640x480 59.94 640x400 60.00 TV1 unknown connection (normal left inverted right x axis y axis) 848x480 59.94 + 640x480 59.94 + 1024x768 59.94 800x600 59.94 VGA1 connected 1366x768+0+0 (normal left inverted right x axis y axis) 410mm x 230mm 1366x768 59.79*+ 1024x768 75.0860.00 800x600 75.0060.32 640x480 75.0060.00 720x400 70.08 VIRTUAL1 disconnected (normal left inverted right x axis y axis) ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 16.04 Package: lxpanel 0.8.2-1ubuntu2 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 4.4.0-32.51-generic 4.4.15 Uname: Linux 4.4.0-32-generic x86_64 ApportVersion: 2.20.1-0ubuntu2.1 Architecture: amd64 Config_Home_Lubuntu: [Command] Logout=lxsession-default quit CurrentDesktop: LXDE Date: Sat Jul 23 00:19:50 2016 InstallationDate: Installed on 2016-07-22 (0 days ago) InstallationMedia: Lubuntu 16.04 LTS "Xenial Xerus" - Release amd64 (20160420.1) SourcePackage: lxpanel UpgradeStatus: No upgrade log present (probably fresh install) ** Affects: lxpanel (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: amd64 apport-bug xenial ** Summary changed: - The screen settings are not fitting in the second panel in Lubuntu 16.04 + The screen settings are not fitting in the second panel for Lubuntu 16.04 -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1605730 Title: The screen settings are not fitting in the second panel for Lubuntu 16.04 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/lxpanel/+bug/1605730/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1590771] [NEW] Mobile Broadband does not activates after inserting usb modem in Xubuntu 16.04.
Public bug reported: Mobile Broadband does not activates after inserting usb modem in Xubuntu 16.04. I have tested the modem in Ubuntu 16.04 (32 bit) and Ubuntu-MATE (64 bit) and in both later mentioned systems, the network-manager activates the mobile-broadband option and then I can follow to create a connection as the network-manager recognises the device but not for Xubuntu though the lsusb report says the device is there and I can make that work with a script called sakis3g (www.sakis3g.com) in Xubuntu but not with network-manager.
