[Bug 579820] Re: Network-manager becomes unmanaged if battery runs out during suspend

2010-07-20 Thread Pedro Miguel Baptista Machado
in the terminal type sudo edit /etc/NetworkManager/nm-system-settings.conf
change the managed=false to managed=true and then save it.
then in the terminal type killall nm-system-settings
and then reboot..

** Changed in: network-manager (Ubuntu)
Assignee: (unassigned) = Pedro Miguel Baptista Machado (pedrmachado)

** Changed in: network-manager (Ubuntu)
   Status: New = Fix Committed

** Description changed:

  Binary package hint: network-manager

  Release: Ubuntu 10.04 LTS
  Hardware: Asus EeePC 900
  Network-manager 0.6.6-3

-
- If laptop battery runs out during suspend, network-manager is unable to
connect any network after reboot. Clicking KNetworkManager icon shows tooltip
Network-manager is in unmanaged state.
+ If laptop battery runs out during suspend, network-manager is unable to
+ connect any network after reboot. Clicking KNetworkManager icon shows
+ tooltip Network-manager is in unmanaged state.

  Steps to reproduce:

  1. Suspend
  2. Let the battery run out
  3. Boot
  -- Network-manager not working
  4. Reboot
  -- Still not working

  Work around:

  1. Suspend again
  2. Resume

I guess that network-manager won't get resumed properly because of the
empty battery and for some reason it is left to that state even after
multiple reboots. However suspending and resuming again fixes this.

 Hi Pedro,

If you could also please test the latest upstream kernel available that would
be great. It will allow additional upstream developers to examine the issue.
  Refer tohttps://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds . Once you've tested
the upstream kernel, please remove the 'needs-upstream-testing' tag. This
can be done by clicking on the yellow pencil icon next to the tag located at
the bottom of the bug description and deleting the 'needs-upstream-testing'
text. Please let us know your results.

 Thanks in advance.

[Bug 570677] [NEW] EEEPC 1005PE, fan isn't r esponding like it should be. The temperature is 61º C idle.

2010-04-27 Thread Pedro Miguel Baptista Machado
Public bug reported:

My EEEPc 1005 PE is not responding with last EEEPC control.
But what is worrying me is that the Fan isn't working how it should be. When
my pc is hot i need to reboot to let BIOS take control of the FAN speed. Then
when i restart the pc it stay with that velocity constant.
Also, when i change CPU mode, it doesn't change.
When i turn off wireless using fn+f2 the eth0 also turns off. When i turn on
wireless eth0 also turns on.
  Sincerely,
PM
