[Bug 345355] Re: No /proc/acpi/video in Clevo M860TU
I'm guessing this is either a BIOS/dsdt bug or lack of support for this barebone within the linux kernel itself. Eitherway, it's a really annoying bug... when the laptop battery goes under a certain percentage my lcd brightness dims (as it's supposed to) but in order to restore the brightness (after having the laptop plugged in) I _MUST_ boot up windows. Linux is not able to restore the brightness on it's own. Also, if X crashes I can't access any maintenance console terminals, so the only solution is a reboot. But as you can see, nobody is paying attention to this, it's the first reply in almost 6 mounths. Anyways, glad to know I'm not alone on this one :) -- No /proc/acpi/video in Clevo M860TU https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/345355 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 193578] Re: Basic graphics operations makes audio skip (1 sec pauses)
I can confirm this bug is not rhythmbox specific. I experience the same bug with exaile, though not so often. As far as I understand it, this is a firefox/compiz issue, the same high cpu scrolling issue that haunts firefox in linux for months. I managed to solve the slow scrolling issue in big pages (see https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/firefox-3.0/+bug/125970) installing the latest nvidia drivers (180) but started to experience this bug with the sound. The crossfading fix solved it for me, although scrolling on big pages still causes high cpu usage. [Bug 352373] Re: [jaunty] System randomly freezes
I'm getting system freezes too. If I remember all of them occurred when I was browsing with firefox. The hole desktop freezes, I can't switch to terminal, can't restart gdm, can't enable/disable caps-lock. The only thing that can be done is move the mouse pointer around... I'm using the final version of Jaunty with all updates released so far. My system is an Acer laptop, Pentium M 1.7, with an integrated intel 855GM graphics card. The distribution is installed on a ext4 partition, and the home directory is a ext3 partition. Hope this gets fixed soon. If more information is needed, please ask. [Bug 161895] Re: ipn2220 with ndiswrapper behaves weird in gutsy
On, my laptop with gutsy, I can't get the card working... The led light is always off... I then install the kernel from feisty, and load ubuntu with it, then I do modprob ndiswrapper and the light enables, and the card is working. Then if I reboot to the kernel from gutsy, and modprobe ndiswrapper the card works.. If I shutdown the computer, and remove the laptop battery and disconnect the pc from power, and reboot I need to go again to the older kernel and enable the card, so I can use it in the new kernel...
