[Bug 573691] Re: Chrome bookmarks are cropped when Ambiance theme or Radiance theme is selected

2010-05-11 Thread Perturbed Penguin
Not sure what this means but I was running the Chrome beta and it had
the issue so I uninstalled Chrome and installed Chromium after reading
here that the issue had apparently been fixed in Chromium. Chromium
still had the issue as far as I could tell and after uninstalling it and
reinstalling Chrome the issue fixed itself in Chrome. Like I said not
certain what that means but thought I'd share.

[Bug 505410] Re: low framerate stutter issues

2010-05-08 Thread Perturbed Penguin
10.4 works flawlessly on my freshly installed Ubuntu 10.04 system, frame
rate now shows as being around 200 as well. (same comp as had the bug
previously) I haven't used it much yet but 10.4 looks like a fabulous
release! Thanks for everything you do,

Brian

[Bug 505410] Re: low framerate stutter issues

2010-02-10 Thread Perturbed Penguin
A new version of Stellarium, AWESOME! I would install it and test it out
if I could figure out how to get libqt4-dev (4.6) compiled installed!
Any ideas or help in this regard? I am curious also if 10.3 will be in
the repos in time for Lucid?

[Bug 314668] Re: [needs-packaging] Thunderbird 3

2010-01-20 Thread Perturbed Penguin
Any idea as to whether it will be possible for TB3 to replace Evolution
in Lucid? I doubt the devs will go for it since it is an LTS release but
I am curious if anyone here has any info on this possibility. Sorry for
being slightly off topic.

[Bug 505410] Re: low framerate stutter issues

2010-01-10 Thread Perturbed Penguin
Nothing noticeable, in fact I think it feels insignificantly, slightly
smoother running Compiz - maybe Compiz blurs the frames together or
something? Anyways, short answer is no. I will mention though that I
noticed today the frame rate had changed from ~25 fps to ~45 fps as was
previously the case with my 7900gs. Because of this is feels much
smoother than before but it still is clearly not perfect.

[Bug 447716] Re: Icon Spacing

2009-12-26 Thread Perturbed Penguin
This issue is occurring on my regular Karmic install as well(not the
netbook edition). My issue seems to be that back in the day I was
editing the menu and deleted the stupid submenus and ever since I have
had to manually add most every game I install to the game menu because a
shortcut is not automatically created for most games. Mupen64 created
its own shortcut link regardless of this issue so apparently it is not
affected if that may help. ...re-adding the submenus does not appear to
fix anything btw. I really hope this gets fixed by Lucid's release.

[Bug 436797] Re: Ubuntu logo is stretched on 16:9 (1920x1080) displays

2009-12-24 Thread Perturbed Penguin
I can confirm that this IS an Nvidia issue, just by chance my graphics
card died recently and I have had to use my integrated graphics(Intel)
until I receive my replacement. The logo now looks as it should with no
changes to anything except the reassignment of graphics duties to the
motherboard rather than my gpu.

[Bug 436797] Re: Ubuntu logo is stretched on 16:9 (1920x1080) displays

2009-12-20 Thread Perturbed Penguin
That may very well be the case, my netbook uses(fairly obviously) Intel
graphics and the Ubuntu logo looks great. The aspect ratio is 5:3 though
so if the aspect ratio really is a factor with this bug then the fact
that my netbook displays it properly is irrelevant.

This is very odd but my 'unredirect fullscreen windows' was unmarked so
I checked it and having it checked fixed all my Compiz/gaming woes!!
Thanks! lol

[Bug 446439] Re: Cannot get back to original colour scheme for the gdm greeter once "Invert Colour" is ticked, then unticked

2009-12-07 Thread Perturbed Penguin
For me Simon's fix worked fine except for the icons, I had to use this
line to restore my icons, and I'm not at all sure why this is different
for me b/c we are all running Karmic here I would think but anyways...

sudo -u gdm gconftool-2 -t string -s /desktop/gnome/interface/icon_theme
HumanLoginIcons

This worked like a charm and its all back to the regular login screen
which I for one like quite a lot actually, thanks Simon and everyone
else!

I also confirm the bug on my Lenovo S10 running UNR 9.10. Same issues as
everyone else, external monitor works fine running Metacity except that
I cant play audio or video - it will crash in the same manner as if I
had Compiz enabled initially if I try to play audio or video w/ external
connected running Metacity.
