This is still a problem in 10.10 Desktop. It is irrelevant in Netbook Edition because of Unity. [Bug 664863] [NEW] Launcher app-icons (Ubuntu-netbook left-side) shown as white boxes upon resume
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: mutter Running Ubuntu 10.10 64-bit. Installed as Gnome, now switched to Netbook Editon. Mutter version 2.31.5-0ubuntu9 . Upon boot-up the icons looked good. After suspend and then resume, the Application Icons on the left-side of the screen are shown as boxes. They are white with dots on them, all exactly the same, as shown in the attached cropped screenshot.
